Coconut Macaroons

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
By itself, a good recipe for macaroons. I don't have any problem keeping the cookies together, and didn't add more coconut. I make them bigger, about 32 cookies. I also drizzle 70% chocolate on top. This makes them have a better presentation- and even more delicious!

Eggplant with Mushroom Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
Excellent. Used Panko, as this was all I had, and baby portabella mushrooms. Also skipped the swiss (I hate it) and used cheddar and parm. We ate it super fast! I good alternative to eggplant parm

Cheesecake Topped Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
FANTASTIC. Made these for a party and work, and got rave reviews both time. Used the One Bowl Brownie recipe and a modified version of the Chocolate Frosting III (1/4 cup butter, 3 tbs milk, 2 tsp corn starch after adequately sweet). Also make in a 9X9 pan with 3/4 the brownie recipe to the whole cheesecake recipe, as I love cheesecake.

Chocolate Frosting III

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
Good, with modifications. As suggested, I only used 3 TBS milk. Also I used 70% belgian chocolate (from Trader Joe's- what I had on hand) and 1/4 cup of butter. Because I don't like my frosting too sweet I added in a few teaspoons of corn starch after it was adequately sweet.

One Bowl Brownies

Fantastic! As long as your follow the recipe. I first tried to make a batch without the walnuts, cherries and almonds instead, and they were just too chewy. The walnuts are necessary.

Easy Baklava

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
Delicious! I thought it was good when I followed the proportions, but it got even better when I changed things around a bit. I only had a 9 x 9 pan and used half of the dough (the dough I bought came in two packages of 8 oz each). I used 12 oz nuts (pecans and walnuts), and I doubled the cinnammon, and added a few dashed of nutmeg. For the syrup, I used 3/4 of the amount in the recipe, except for the lemon zest. I used the zest of an entire large lemon. This made the baklava very lemony, and makes it distinct.

Pad Thai

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
Great, GREAT recipe! My boyfriend declared that it was the best things he'd ever eaten! I followed the recipe, sans beans sprouts, and also, as suggested, used lime instead of lemon. I have made this recipe with rice noodled of multiple thickness, and find that it works best with medium noodles. Thin noodles \seem to stick together and not mix very well with the other ingredients.

Granny's Brownies

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
I made this recipe according to the original recipe, less 1/8 cup butter, as others said it was too greasy. The batter still tasted bland, so I tried adding more chocolate and some peanut butter. If I made this again I would try more nuts, more chocolate, less sugar, still add peanut butter, and add more four. Overall, not a very good recipe
