Chomeur's Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Excellent! Just like we had in Quebec. I divided the batter & liquid in two and made half in my crockpot, cooked on high for 2 hours. Turned out wonderfully both ways!

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
This was heavenly indeed! I halved the recipe and baked it in an 8" square pan for 30 minutes. As others mentioned, I too added extra milk (1/4 cup since I made half the recipe). The texture was absolutely perfect, moist and tender with a fine crumb, but not dense. I will definitely make this again and again!

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
Absolutely delicious! The only thing this needs is a nice cold glass of milk. I used a small cookie scoop and made almost 4 dozen rather than 2.

Portuguese Custard Tarts - Pasteis de Nata

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
Excellent recipe! These were exactly like the tarts we buy at a local Portuguese bakery, but for a fraction of the price, and not very difficult to make at all. As a previous member had suggested, I rolled up the dough and cut slices off the log. The custard was absolutely delicious, my whole family loved them, and I'm sure will be requesting them again soon. Thank you!!

Tasty Sesame Tilapia

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
I tried this recipe with Rainbow Trout rather than Tilapia since that's what I had. It was very good, but I found it to be a little too salty, and would have preferred it a bit sweeter. Next time I would change it to 1/8 cup soy sauce and 3/4 cup OJ. As others mentioned, I garnished with sesame seeds and scallions and thickened the sauce with a bit of cornstarch at the end. Presentation was very nice - I served with jasmine rice and garlic scented broccoli. Thank you!

Yakitori Don

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
Delicious! I didn't have any sake so I substituted with Rice Wine Vinegar. The flavour was very nice and this was very easy to make. I will definitely make this again. I thickened the sauce at the end with a bit of cornstarch mixed with water. I served the chicken with Japanese sticky rice and sauteed veggies.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
Tasted great and hardened nicely, however recipe is inaccurate with the liquid ingredients as others have mentioned. I had to add more milk and corn syrup but I would definitely make this again. I found the icing a little tricky to work with, I used a spatula to ice the cookies, next time though I will use a piping bag.

Impossible Coconut Pie I

Followed the instructions exactly as written but both my husband and I did not enjoy this. We thought it tasted like eggs with coconut on it. Unfortunately, the whole thing ended up in the trash!
