Root Beer Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
Sorry - but I really want to make this cake but I looked everywhere in my small-town grocery store and they don't sell root beer extract, what would be an equal substitute in root beer without changing the consistency of the cake?

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
I omitted the frosting, and used 1/2 sour cream, half vanilla yogurt. Then I left out the vanilla. Soooo good, especially when topped with the Peanut Butter GLaze from this website.

Ancient Roman Cheesecake (Savillum)

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
SOO GOOD I wasn't quite expecting for the texture, I was more expecting a cheese-cakey more texture, but still very very good.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
Delish! I'm eating one this moment, and are they ever good! I only had some trouble (maybe not ?) getting the dough right, it ended up with a dippin dot sort of texture, so I needed to really squish the dough together. But in the long run, it was very good!

Sure, they were yummy but I don't understand the high rating it recives because, to me it was like a sugary banana muffin !

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
Yummy ! I'm not particularly a fish sort of person, so I guess this review has a bit of a bias, but it was really yummy. Next time I might put more honey and/or ginger. Cooked at 400 for 20 minutes, came out perfect.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
Oh no. These were truely awful. I did all the steps right, and the first bite was ok, but the after taste was like eating raw baking soda. I threw the whole batch out before anyone ate them.

Blubaugh's Blueberry Buckle Shortcake

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
Really good, the texture I found was kind of pound-cakey, but a delicious pound cake anyways! I topped it with jam instead of pie filling and it was even better, in my opinion. I will definetly make again ! EDIT- ok the next day they were GROSS :( not even a 2 star. Maybe I won't make them afterall...

Buttery Corn Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
REALLY YUMMY! Instead of just milk, I mixed 2/3 cup of milk with 1 cup buttermilk. I'm not sure if it made a difference, but it might have, since this was sooo good! Good to re-heat and serve later I found aswell :)

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
YUMMY. That's all it needs, it was a hit even for my brothers who don't usually like applesauce. To make it a little yummier, I softened a couple caramels in the microwave, and popped them on top! Best applesauce I've ever had.

Honey Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Pretty yummy, but fairly flavourless and you couldn't REALLY taste the honey.. I found it just added sweetness but not flavour. But a nice honey-mustard sauce made it at least a four star, but on it's own, not so much.

Poppy Seed Bundt Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
Yummy but RICH! I put a lemon/milk/sugar glaze on it aswell, but still very VERY rich. That might have been the cake mix I was using, but anyways, overall it was a four star.

Blueberry Coffee Cake I

Delicious! I changed nothing (except using less of the strusel mix) and it was amazing! I will definetly make it again, but I'll add some strusel in with the blueberries! A perfect 5 stars!
