Guacamole

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2015
This was exceptional! It is very easy to build more flavor into it if you need a little more of something else. We used red onion and diced it as fine as we possibly could to spread out the flavor and keep the kids from noticing and did the same with the cilantro ;-) As is, we loved the recipe and was a winner from 2 years old all the way to 70+! There wasn't any leftovers. That has to say something! I would say it yielded about 4 cups, if that helps anyone. Happy eating!

Royal Icing II

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2013
This recipe is Fabulous! I wanted a cement like frosting for making houses out of graham crackers. Each of the 14 houses held up for all the kids to make our giant candy town. We had an age range from 2-17 and every house survived! Even the crumbly gluten free crackers! It was a huge success! I did notice the first batch wasn’t as thick as I’d hoped, so I used 4 Tbls of water the next time which allowed me to hand roll the frosting and put it exactly where I needed it!

Taco Seasoning

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2012
We loved this recipe! It is definitely only for 1-1.5 lbs of ground beef and we mixed it with 1/3c of water before mixing it with the beef. We didn't have any garlic powder so we used garlic salt with the same measurement. We will be using this again!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
Wow! This was a huge hit! I thought I made more than enough for leftovers for lunch the next day, but there are barely two servings left! We are not huge fans of mushrooms, so we used cream of chicken soup, and I didn't have any white wine, so I used 1/4 cup of red wine and 1/4 cup of water. I tasted it before and after I added the wine/water mix, and it did make a difference. I used regular cream cheese and added my own dehydrated chives. I used gigantic frozen chicken breasts, and threw it all in a 9x13 baking dish and it still only took 1 hour to cook! Thanks for the great recipe! My family has asked that this become a staple dish for dinner! I would love to try the crock pot version that another reviewer suggested, what an easy way to cook it!

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
Our entire family loved this, and so did our guests (they had no idea they were guinea pigs!). The family asked that we make this one of our staple dishes. It is soooo easy and ultra fast to make! I'm not a huge fan of microwaves, so I melted the butter in a small sauce pan with all of the ingredients and poured it over the chicken breasts and broiled on low for about 15-20 minutes. Thanks for the great recipe!

Italian Bread Baked on a Pizza Stone

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
Excellent recipe, everyone took two or more pieces and asked for the recipe! You definitely need to use more corn meal than you think, just so the bread doesn't fall while transferring it to the stone.

This was an excellent way to jazz up a chicken dinner. It goes together quickly and there is not a whole lot that can go wrong!

Homemade Pan Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
We loved these, I didn't have any regular milk, so I substituted coconut milk and there wasn't a single roll left for the next day. I also didn't have rapid rise yeast, so I used the warm water and sugar to proof 3 teaspoons of yeast for about 10 minutes. This will be a staple for our family!

Fruit Dip II

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Wow! Everyone loved this and wanted the recipe! The cream cheese stabilizes the marshmallow creme and cuts down on the sweetness just enough to compliment the fruit. Will be a main dip for me to bring to any party, my friends are constantly begging me to bring it.

Applesauce

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
My family loved this applesauce, it was gone in less than 20 minutes and they were begging for more. It could be partly due to the fact that I halved the recipe (oops! won't do that again!). I only used 1 1/2 tsp sugar because I knew the apples would be sweet enough on their own, and boy am I glad I didn't use any more! I figure it can always be added if it's not sweet enough. This will be our main applesauce recipe!!!

Fruit-Filled White Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2010
Wow!!! I made this for a baby shower, and everyone loved it. I made my own chocolate butter cream frosting and I used a strawberry spread from Costco for the filling along with fresh strawberries. Not Complicated! It was so easy and I will use this as a staple recipe for my white cake from now on. I used two 9x13 pans and doubled the recipe. It didn't throw anything off and they layered beautifully. I have been asked to make this again, and I will!!!

Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
This is Fabulous! The flavors are well balanced and it's a hit with the kids. It's so easy to throw together with things that already in the cupboard. This is going to be a staple for us. This time I scooped about 1/2 large can of refried beans in a large bowl with some shredded mozzarella, dried parsley, salt, pepper, and the chicken that I had cooked. I cut the 5lbs of chicken into 1" cubes or smaller and fried them in some olive oil, garlic, and crushed red pepper. After cooking I opened a 15oz can of enchilada sauce and used some to thoroughly coat the chicken before adding it to the bean mixture. I used corn tortillas that I had heated up to prevent cracking. I put a small amount of enchilada sauce on the bottom of the 9x13 pan then put the stuffed tortillas in the pan and topped with a small amount of the enchilada sauce and shredded cheese. This was loved by Becky, Benie, Julie, Alesha, Anthony, Billy, Weston, Brandon, Brynne, and Myleah. They all had seconds.

Wonderful! It stays moist for several days in an airtight container. I didn't have regular milk powder so I used buttermilk powder instead and it tastes great! Everyone Loves This Bread!

Oatmeal Bread II

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
This is the first recipe I tried in my bread machine and WOW! It is delicious. Everyone wanted more. This is going to become a staple for us. I am not a fan of powdered milk and so I substituted 3/4c milk and 1/2c water for the original water and powdered milk quantities. I used All Purpose Flour instead of Bread Flour. I also used butter instead of margarine. Great Recipe!
