Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
wow, I wanted something different than the same old worcestershire sauce chex mix and this was definately it! I kicked up the cayenne a tad, because we like it that way and it was fantastic. Slightly sweet with a hint of heat mmm mm good

Neapolitan Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
I have been making these cookies for years as part of my Christmas gift tins. In the chocolate dough I add a tsp instant coffee - makes the chocolate more pronounced, in the white dough I add poppy seeds and in the red dough i add chopped maraschino cherries (1/4 cup no juice)

Easter Meat Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
Wow, my family has been making this for generations, but I never met anyone else who knew about it. The principle is simple three meats and three cheeses. If your low on funds use bacon pepperoni and ham - always boiled ham never glazed of any kind. If you can afford it used proscuitto, capacola and caprise...we always make it in aloaf, like a calzone a stuffed bread and we add parsley, like a cup of fresh not a teaspoon of dry. Its good Friday and I am off to the market for ingredients. Happy cooking,

Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
I made this last week for a dinner party and it was a huge hit. Came up nice and high, rich and flavorful. I didn't have buttermilk so I used milk and vinegar, 1 cup milk to 1 tbls vinegar and I only had fat free sour cream. It was stil fabulous. making it again for ST Patty's day. Thanks PL.

Tracy's Tomato Artichoke Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
Just finished making this for picnic with the in-laws tomorrow. I added chopped carrots and fresh chopped herbs - basil, oregano and mint about 1 tbs total and preliminary tastes are fantastic!! We'll see how it holds up tomorrow.

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
I made this last night for a co-worker's birthday, as she requested carrot cake specifically. The only changes I made was to soak the raisins in (pineapple flavored) rum. Woohoo was this cake good. I didn't use walnuts - none on hand. But still the moistness level, flavor and texture of this cake were right on! Definetly adding this to my recipe box.

Baklava

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I made this today and my family loved it. I used the real butter in the spray bottle trick and that made the whole process so much easier. I also followed other suggestions and toasted the walnuts prior to chopping mmmmm mmmm good! This is the one to keep.

Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
I have never made pickles before but had too many cucumbers not to try. This recipe was pretty easy to throw together. I did not have alot of fresh dill so I used dry at the end, and in a few jars we added jalepeno peppers for zing. Its been eight weeks, and WOW. These pickles are fantastic. The hot ones are too hot for me, the rest are a huge hit. My family are pickle fanatics and they all gave 5 stars. Thanks!

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
I made this recipe and a traditional corn beef for the same dinner party, hands down this was the favorite at the table. I don't typically have guiness in the house, so I used the beer on hand and it was deelish.

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
I was looking for a lower fat alternative to mayo based coleslaw and came across this one. My family doesn't want any other now! This is fantastic. I did let the dressing cool as I was concerned about wilting...maybe needlessly. There is alot of water and even that did not make the salad mushy. This cole slaw stayed crisp for days! (4) until we finished it.
