Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
I wasn't a fan as is. Might be workable-but, definitely not what I was looking for. I love all the ingredients- but, too moist to solidify as is, then not quite the flavor I am hunting.

Fruity Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
This got rave reviews when served recently- however, I did have to adjust ingredients. My breasts were meaty, thus I needed more mayo (about a cup more) plus more curry & I left out both the raisins & apples (raisins we don't like- and apples would have browned before prep for my purposes, though I know the flavor would have been good, presentation is necessary!)

Mom's Baking Powder Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
I used butter instead of shortening- for flavor. I was craving my old HS home ec style cinnamon biscuits. I added 2 T Sugar, 1 t. cinnamon (guessing as I don't really measure) with powder sugar icing. They hit the spot, though not as light as I was hoping for.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
I always love the recipes here that are highly rated. I am very skilled in the kitchen, coming from a traditional family of caterers. These suckers were agreeably soft, so soft in fact, when you pick one up- they fall back apart and you might as well grab a fork & scoop. While I like soft cookies- I prefer crispness on the outside, so- I tried a second batch, eliminating one egg & baking a few minutes darker. Still not a go- and this is not a signature for me- just testing what was reviewed so highly so I am moving on. To send them to a party- would be a waste unless you served them with a spoon.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
Believe it or not- this is my 9 year olds favorite dish! He likes this with white rice. The only changes I make are soaking the meat in buttermilk & seasonings (usually salt & pepper) just for the extra punch. *note for those that don't cook with wine often, NEVER cook with a wine you don't drink! I'm not huge on most wines- however, I grab ones specifically for cooking based on their stand alone taste. (sampling events are great for this) Also, the alcohol cooks off for those worried!

Coconut Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
excellent bread- more for finishing than the meal. I paired it with a red curry dish & it went well. Tastes like blueberries or other fruits would be good additions as well! Thanks for posting!

Sour Cream Torte

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
While NOT my favorite dessert- it's gotten rave reviews around dh's office many times. I'm making again this week- definitely a keeper. It IS alot of work- I started rolling parts flat to a dusted cake pan bottom and just trimming around them to save time...
