About this Cook
I'm a proud new mommy and wife, just got my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, and I'm currently working as a teacher in a nursery school - I love cooking and can't wait until my baby is old enough for solids! :-)
My favorite things to cook
I'm a vegetarian, but I still cook meat for my carnivorous hubby and family :-) My faves to cook are chicken soup, pot roast, different types of chicken, desserts, and anything in a slow cooker! (Which I've discovered is the most amazing invention since I've had a baby!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making jello with my mom, bread with my dad, and cookies with my siblings!
My cooking triumphs
All my slow-cooker adventures tend to turn out delish.
My cooking tragedies
Making chocolate chip cookies with self-rising flour! Eeek!

Stuffed Pork Chops III
Very tasty - sauteed the onions before I put them in the stuffing, and added 1/4 cup of red wine to the gravy. I removed the chops, added a cornstarch/water combo to thicken up the gravy, returned the chops to the pan, spooned some of the gravy on the chops, and cooked for an additional 5 minutes. Def. a keeper!

Delicious Apple Sauce
VERY delish. I reduced the amount of cinnamon and sugar, and drained some of the water off before putting in the blender for a few quick blends. It's really up to your own personal taste how much cinnamon and sugar you use...I had chopped up the apples instead of shredding them, leaving the applesauce chunky - PERFECT for my 16 month old learning how to use utensils! Very good on vanilla ice cream or all by itself.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies
SO good - only used 3 eggs, substituted one cup of the white sugar with brown sugar, and put some chopped up frozen peanut butter cups on top that I had left over from another recipe. SO SO good - didn't last long!
