About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 12 years), my son Gabriel (he is 8), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!

Fried Havarti Cheese Bites
Delicious! I did have issues with them melting before they browned enough, but I'm gonna play around with it a bit and maybe freeze the cheese cubes first before coating and frying. The coating is so tasty and the combo w/ that and the creamy cheese is really fantastic. I will def be making these again~YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. :)

Sea Salty and Pepper Potato Chips
Delicious! I would suggest drying the potatoes before putting them into the hot oil or it will cause the oil to violently splatter and can cause injury or a fire. Other than that, these were very easy to make and very, VERY addicting. The whole family LOVED these...a keeper for sure~YUM, YUM, YUM!!!! Thanks for sharing. :)

Something Interesting with Egg
Very good! I went to the fridge to get the tomatoes and cucumber, and I had no cucumber, so I had to go without, but I will try it next time. Also sprinkled on some fresh cracked pepper along w/ the salt. Very easy and filling breakfast. I would make this again! Thanks for sharing. :)
