About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 11 years), my son Gabriel (he is 7), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.

EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.

Simple Sweet Potatoes
This was different, and I thought it was good! I liked the sweetness of the potatoes w/ the flavors of the avocado mixture. I was worried how everything would work together, but it was nice, and a nice change from the usual. Thanks for sharing. :)

'Cherry' Caprese Salad
Tasty! I do feel it needs a bit of salt and pepper, or a drizzle of evoo or basalmic vinegar to 'brighten' up the flavors a bit. I just added the salt and pepper, and that was fine for us. We liked the addition of the black olives, making it different from the usual caprese salad. I would make this again, b/c we love these types of salads! Thanks for sharing. :)

Western Style Flat Iron Steaks
FANTASTIC! Made exactly as written except for halving the recipe for a 1# flat iron steak and marinating it all day long. So super moist, tender and just absolutely delicious! The whole family gobbled this up, and hubby's already asking when we can have it again...a definite keeper~YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. :)
