About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 12 years), my son Gabriel (he is 8), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!

Aunty Terese's Fattoush
This was good! I did not use the romaine b/c I didn't have any, but followed the recipe otherwise. I would've like some fresh lemon juice in addition to the sumac in this, as well, but that's my opinion. This went really well with our dinner tonight! Thanks for sharing. :)

Hurricane Cocktail
Hubby made this for himself...He liked it, but he said next round he's gonna reduce the lime juice by half. Someone gave us a little bit of passion fruit syrup b/c we can't find it anywhere around here and it's SUPER expensive online. I see the other reviewer made their own, so I'm gonna look into that. Also, he floated some 151 rum on top b/c that's just what he does, lol. Thanks for sharing. :)
