About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 11 years), my son Gabriel (he is 7), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!

Waldorf's Sour Cream Cheesecake
FANTASTIC! I was leary of using 1/2 cup of margarine in the crust, and it was pretty oily when I was pressing it into the pan, but it came out great. I used a 9-1/2" springform pan, adding about 8 minutes to the cook time to get it set. I only ended up using 1/2 of the sour cream topping, so I know to halve that next time for my size pan. This cheese cake was one of the firsts that I have made that did not crack at all and did not brown on top...it was PERFECT (and cut beautifully)! I did put a pan of water on the bottom rack of the oven while this was baking, so I'm sure that helped. Creamy, rich and yummy...everything a good cheesecake should be. I served it with salted caramel drizzle and strawberries, mmmmm.... I will def be making this again and again~YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. :)

Grilled Onions and Potatoes
Made this for Recipe Group...Very good! I used non-stick foil, which worked great for this recipe. The whole family enjoyed these, and best of all was the easy clean up...a keeper! Thanks for sharing. :)

Master Pizza Dough
WOW...FANTASTIC! This is definitely one of, if not THE BEST pizza dough I have ever made. I did need to add an extra 1/2 cup flour to get it to the right consistency, but that was my only change. I mixed it all up in the kitchen aid, making this even easier to make than it already is. The dough is beautiful to work with. This is my new go-to dough recipe~YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. :)
