My love of cooking started at a very young age. If it’s even possible, I like to think that I was born with it. From as far back as I can remember, I was always at my mother’s feet, watching what she was doing, or helping my dad make one of his ‘famous’ soups. I was one of the lucky ones…I… MORE

About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 10 years), my son Gabriel (he is 6), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!

Sauteed Radishes
We LOVE radishes, but have never had anything like this...SO GOOD! Simple ingredients and preparation make this a wonderful side for just about anything. We loved the sweetness that came out of the radishes from cooking them. This is a definite keeper~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Cheesesteak Chimichanga
DELICIOUS! I had some leftover steak in the fridge and this recipe was a perfect use for it. I did season the steak/pepper/onion mixture w/ salt, pepper and garlic powder, just for a bit more flavor. I sprayed them w/ non-stick cooking spray and baked them until brown...perfect! I will def be making these again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Jimmbo's Garlic Knots
YUM! I only had evoo, and I thought that would be too strong, so I used butter instead, and I used less salt than called for (just to taste)...so good...a definite keeper! Thanks for sharing. :)
