With the summer months FINALLY here (YAY!), it's nice to find delicious, easy recipes for the grill. This month's sponsor is Reynolds brand, and they've come up with some really awesome grilling recipes that will keep your kitchen cool and you looking like a rock star! I tried two recipes (so far). First up was 'Grilled Salmon Greek Pitas':   http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Grilled-Salmon-Greek-Pitas/Detail.aspx. The salmon was cooked to perfection and was super flavorful. This was a great recipe for something different. Next up was my family's favorite 'Grilled Masala Chicken with Vegetables':  http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Grilled-Masala-Chicken-with-Vegetables/Detail.aspx. I knew when I was reading through the recipe that I just had to serve these in warmed pita bread...I was right, it was FANTASTIC and the family went crazy for them. Before cooking, I cubed up my chicken and marinated it for a few hours for maximum flavor. This really was one of the best recipes that I have tried and a definite keeper. For both recipes, I used a double layer of Reynolds non-stick foil, which worked great for easy removal and clean-up! I served both with grilled corn on the cob and  a big salad to make a complete meal without heating up the kitchen. For more great recipes, visit: ReynoldsMealMagic.com

Now, onto my A-ha moment...

Don't you just LOVE having an a-ha moment?!?!....I DO! Mine came the other night when I was getting ready to grill chicken kabobs. As I was scraping the grates and cleaning out the inside of the grill (ugh...), I was thinking to myself 'Geez, I think I'd like grilling more if there wasn't so much prep work that went along with it'. Just as I finished cleaning up all of the drips and black bits, it hit me...'Duh, why don't I try to line the inside bottom of the grill w/ Reynolds foil???' I figured that way when I'm done, I can just toss out the foil, making clean-up a million times easier. Well, let me just say that I will never have an un-foil-lined grill bottom again! It worked like a charm and if it doesn't get too messy, you can keep it in there unitl it needs changing (you'll know when, lol). When and if (and you should!) do this, just make sure to go around the burners, so the grill will still light. If anyone else has any other grilling tricks to share, let me know. I'm always looking for new cooking tips and tricks.

I have used the non stick foil. It does not stick on anything I have tried, period. Although, it can be a wily critter if you use it to cook ON rather than IN (I almost lost a grilled pizza), and it left my chicken breasts an odd shade of grey. For non-stick it's fabulous, but thought I'd toss out my warnings :)

Thanks for the tip, I can't believe I never thought of that! I recently spent part of my weekend scrubbing the grill, and it's still not completely clean!

About Me
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 12 years), my son Gabriel (he is 8), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!
