Chicken Paprikash I

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
Very Very greasy and took almost an hour and ten to cook. I followed exactly-even REAL paprika. The sour cream did not mesh with all the grease from chicken skin. If using bone in chicken as I did maybe remove the skin??

Chinese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
Just ok. It wouldn't have been different if you just poured teriyaki on them. Actually a little sour with the lemon. Wont make again.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
This is way too long for a 5 lb bird let alone 2-3 lbs. I checked after 5 hours and managed to save the meal.

All American Roast Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
Deeelish!! I couldn't use my roaster with rack as it was too large. I made a "bed" with onions and carrot. I also added 1 can of beef broth to the shallow pan. I seasoned liberally ahead of time and put back in the fridge. Key is as others said. Bring it to rrom temp before cooking and let rest 15 minutes after. I also tied it as mentioned to promote even cooking. It definitely will keep cooking as it sits. Everyones oven is different but my 2 lbs. took 60 minutes for med-rare.

Basic Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2013
This was very good-added dill weed too. My opinion, you can not use thighs for ckn salad. They are too greasy, even without skin. The mayo will not adhere to ckn.

Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
Wonderful. The only thing I changed was I used 3 center cut loin chops (bone-in). The were so moist and tender. I grilled them on med-high 7 minutes on each side. I also made another batch of marinade w/cornstarch and water and heated on stove for dipping sauce. It really didn't need it but it was delish. My husband "was" not a fan of chops but he is now. We all grew up with shake n bake and that left some untasty, greasy chop memories. Thanks so much.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies VI

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
WOW these turned out better than I expected. Me and my 1 year old were bored (lol) and we had all the ingredients on hand so I thought we would try it. Actually, I didn't have baking soda so I used baking powder and just doubled what it called for. I did add a pinch of salt as others suggested. They were so homemade tasting. Moist and so tasty. Thanks...BTW this was his first oatmeal cookie and he agreed this is a keeper..

Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
These were great. The only change I made was I sprayed my pan and shrooms with PAM. I still added white wine (mine was lemon flavored) and used mozzerella b/c it's what I had on hand. These were so wonderful. I really overstuffed them and added more crab than recipe called for. Thanks so much:-)

Stuffed Artichokes

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
This was just ok. In reading other reviews I did use olive oil and italian breadcrumbs. Definitely needed more garlic. Will take the advice of others by blanching first and baking covered in oven.

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2011
I really thought this would be better. I love lemon with anything. This just didn't mesh with the heavy cream and broth. I may use this recipe and just omit the lemons. The only think I could taste was bitter lemons. No one in my house had more than 1 bite.

Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2010
First off, cooking time way too long. 45 minutes is enough time. I know rosemary can be to taste but this was way too much. Stick to my own reipe for this.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
This was fabulous. I was leary as well when reading it. I marinated in grill master garlic peppercorn for 12 hours. Also, I let the meat sit out 20 minutes prior to cooking. A good knife and oven are key. For those who said it was raw might need to have your oven calibrated. It was medium on the ends and med-rare in the middle. Perfection. Thanks so much.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
I thought these were just ok. I did half in white and half in milk chocolate(Bakers)The milk (semi-sweet) went much faster than white chocolate. They are definitely rich. Little too much chocolate for me but the kids enjoyed making (oh what a mess) and eating them. Not a truffle for sure. Don't think I would make again but thank you for the recipe.

Hummus III

Reviewed: May 22, 2009
First off this can not be done in a blender. Not the right consistancy. Recipe calls for way too much salt and tahini. I am glad I read reviews first. I made several times and have added roasted red peppers and sun dried tomatoes. Both very good. Good base recipe with modifications.

Lemon Rosemary Salmon

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
This was fantastic. Only change was I broiled my 1 1/2 fillet for 10 minutes 4-5 inches from heat. Made it a little more crispy than baking would have. Fresh rosemary and a lemon, not bottled juice,is key. I like pepper so I added fresh cracked black on top. Thanks so much

Fried Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
These were great. The only change I made was I used Panko breadcrumbs instead of Italian. These crumbs are so crunchy and thats how we like them. I did not make the dip but I will next time. Thanks
