About this Cook
I am a Christian, a wife, a mother of 3 boys, a daughter, a sister, a cousin, and a friend! My life is blessed by those who surround me! I am currently a stay at home mom where I, most of the time, enjoy caring for my boys Riley, Tyler, and Nathan. :)
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Recipes that have been handed down to me from more experienced generations!
My cooking triumphs
To be decided!!!! I'm always trying to out do myself. I've mastered a few cookie recipes that my kids/family LOVE and I've made some great layer cakes (thanks to AR!). I've also created a few of my own "signature" cake recipes. I have a small on the side/hobby cake "business". Mostly for friends, family and family friends! But hey, it's a start!
My cooking tragedies
Not too many tragedies fortunately! Just some black cookies that were forgotten in the oven....more than once I have to say!

Beer Bread I
Couldn't be easier or more delicious! I did use the recommended 1/3 c of sugar. I used a honey wheat beer which gave it a delicious flavor! A go to recipe!

Cheesecake Lemon Bars
These turned out great. A lot of steps but well worth it. I topped mine with a thin layer of sweetened sour cream (about a cup of sour cream w/ confectioners sugar to taste and a drop...litterally a drop...of lemon extract). I only topped it because I liked the more finished look. These were a hit with our family and friends. Great refreshing summer dessert w/o instant pudding or cool whip! (no offense to those desserts, I make them too!) :)

Nanaimo Bars III
Wow, very sweet and I have a huge sweet tooth! I cut out one cup of confectioners sugar too! However, they are unusually addicting! I would say cut them very small...I got 25 out of my 8x8 pan. I also couldn't find custard powder so had to resort to instant pudding. I am not sure if that affected the sweetness (since I don't know how sweet custard powder is). Either way, if I find custard powder, I'll definitely try these again. They were a great project for my 9 yr old son and I as we ended our study of Canada!
