Moist Date Nut Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
when I read the preview , I should have realized when they said "figgy Pudding" refrence it was not going to be like a bread. Too dense for my family and myself personally. I like a "drier" date nut bread.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
This is the first time I ever made fondant as well as worked with it. Most people do not care for fondant. They usually say it looks pretty but doesn't taste good. Well I have to say it was easy to work with and tasted good as well. But I did only use it as decoration on frosting, so there wasn't too much fondant being eaten at one time. It tasted like marshmellow, which everyone like so that definitely was a plus. Now about making it.........I really thought at one point that my hands would be forever webbed together by this sticky mess then all of a sudden it just kind of worked itself into a ball. I was really pleasently surprised how easy it was to work with after it chilled overnight. I definitely reccomend making it. With that said make it a couple of days prior to it being needed - so the mess and stress level is a minium, which definitely enhances the experience of using the fondant.

Refreshing Watermelon Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
I used mint, preferring it over cilamtro. It still wasn't a big hit at the bbq. I wasn't a fan either, but this is all personal taste!

Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
I used chicken stock (dont care for boullion cubes). I used rotissaire chicken that was left over with 1 cup extra xharp cheddar and 2 cups velvetta. I dont really think these substitutions changed the integrity of the recipe, that is why I am reviewing. I also pureed the mixture with a handheld, then added the cheese and chicken in. Very good, evven my 6 yr old nephew liked it!

I liked it very much, except brushing the sauce on every 10 minutes was a pain. I definitely could see making this recipe for a crowd.

I made this as a side to the baked teriyaki chicken from this site. Didn't go over well. The only change I made was that I omited the chicken.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Read tips from readers and applied them for easier rolling techniques. Everyone who ate it like it in my family. Next time I think I might make 2 separate ones and freeze one for a later date

Slow Cooker Fall Harvest Pork Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
It was OK. Would I make again? No. It was bland, and although the ingredients sounded like they would blend well, it just didn't personally work for me. I would have enjoyed it more if I made everything separate.

Five Flavor Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
Although I do not normally review, if I haven't followed the recipe exact , I believe my changes were very small. I did not use coocnut nor butter extract. I did however use orange extracts with the other flavorings. Very good pound cake went ove big at the meeting I brought it to. The longer it sits the moister it gets!

I haven't grilled the pineapple yet, but I have eaten the cheese on toasted pound cake. Could not find hazelnuts so I used toasted sliced almonds. Really light dessert. I am going to try grilling the pineapple this week and update my review. Definetly make again
