Cone Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2011
I've made these for years for my kids for their school birthday parties. They're always a hit with the kids, and you can get pretty imaginative with decorating them. Thanks for sharing...

Onion Cheese Bread

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
I've made a version of this for years; we call it "Vienna Bread". I use Swiss cheese instead, use dried mustard instead of the prepared mustard, brown/crystallize some chopped sweet onion instead of the green onion, and add poppy seeds. Wonderful shtuff!! :)

I'm a vegetarian, but my hubby and son are "carnivores". They said to give this recipe 5 stars after I made it for them!

Danish Oven Pancake (Aeggekage)

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
Around here, we consider this as a traditional Finnish dish; some (my grampa) called it panukaaku (sp), but my mother-in-law (who was also Finn) called it krupsua. Either way, it's a wonderful and quick dish that our family loves! Highly recommend it.

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
Wonderful! My hubby ate a half dozen of these cookies when they came out of the oven! Soft, chewy, with just enough crisp around the edges. I added a half cup of butterscotch chips as well. Turned out really good! I highly recommend this cookie recipe to any chocolate lovers out there.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
Excellent recipe! I substituted 1 cup of butterscotch chips for the chopped walnuts and they turned out great. Also, I take them off of the pan almost immediately, taking care to remove them carefully with a flexible spatula...less sticking that way. Will definitely make these again!

Tourtiers (French Pork Pie)

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
My grandmothers used to make this for the holidays too; I didn't care if there was another dish served or long as I had my own pie! Like my grandmothers, I use a fresh ham and boil it until well cooked and falling from the bone. It may be hard to find a fresh ham, so substituting the ground pork works too. I then grind the ham, and put the potatoes through the grinder/strainer as well. The rest of the recipe is basically the same, except we didn't/don't use celery or bay leaf. And the pastry dough is made fresh...preferably with lard. Glad to see someone else knows what this wonderful dish is! :)

Marinade for Steak I

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2010
My family loved this! Even the fussy ones. And my hubby said he could eat steak cooked this way every time. Thanks for sharing! :) I didn't have any red wine vinegar, so I substituted a blackberry basalmic vinegar that I had; it turned out beautifully. P.S. As suggested, I also added 3 Tblsp. Worcestershire sauce. Perfect!
