Apple Crisp I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
This recipe was okay, I made it because the ingredients where simple and I needed to use up some apples. As other users suggested, I would probably add oats if I decided to make this recipe again...and will try to mix with brown sugar. It was a little too sugary and starchy for what I'm used to in an apple crisp.

Cabbage Patch Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Very good. It needed extra seasoning for my taste, I added 1/2 bunch of fresh cilantro and 1/2 bunch fresh parsley which I think really made the dish! I needed to add extra salt, pepper, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste. I didn't have a problem finding the Ranch Style Beans but I think chili beans would be a good replacement in this dish if you can't find Ranch Style Beans. This dish is very versatile and you could almost add any veggi or spice you have on hand. Husband loved it and recommended we add chorizo next time..will make again!

Rachel's Cream Cheese Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2008
I felt like the sauce completely overpowered the fruit, it was a combination of too much cinnamon and vanilla extract that I dont feel the it worked well with fruit. My husband liked the dish and it was okay this once but I will not make it again.

Granny's Corn Flour Tortillas

The texture of the dough was crumbly dry and hard to work with, I followed the recipe to the T. It did not roll out well into circles. Was disapointed will not try again.

Fast Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
For the most part it was good and kid friendly. I found the sauce too be too thick it just sat on top of the dish did not blend with other ingredients, so I ended up adding some milk in with the mayo mixture to make it a creamy sauce. I used cream of mushroom since I had it on hand. I added the suggested curry powder but I think next time I will try ground mustard seed with garlic salt and pepper. I think it will compliment this dish well. I will make again!

Steak with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
Excellent recipe, I had to improvise with ingredients I had on hand so I used chicken broth instead of beef, white whine vinegar instead of white wine, and seasoned the flour with salt and pepper before browning steak....the whole family ate it even my 2 year old picky eater!
