my girl
About this Cook
We are a military family and move around a bit, but we love the cultural experiences. Have 2 kids a boy n a girl both born overseas.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new tastes, from every where. We just moved back to the states after being in Europe for 5 years and I just loved the different tastes from country to country. Fresh Veggies and soups are my faves to cook--there are so many things you can do with them!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't think we really have any traditions just yet, and none that I can remember from my childhood.
My cooking triumphs
My personal fave is my Beer n Cheese soup, sounds kinda iffy but it is just mouthwatering......and VERY fattening. My Husband thinks my Chicken n Dumplings are to die for though.
My cooking tragedies
I have a horrible time trying to make sweets....I just don't have it in me I guess..........maybe cuz I don't like sweets that much.

Rachael's Superheated Cajun Boiled Peanuts
These turned out perfectly! Thank you for such a great recipe! They were well worth the 24 hour cooking time!

Mall Pretzels
These pretzels were great! Easy to make(I'm new to baking-so "easy" is saying alot for me). I didn't get the "soft pretzel skin" on mine but they were good...the family had them gone within an hour of them coming out of the oven. I served them with some cheese sauces (the men wanted jalapeno sauce of course) and they went over wonderfully, Thanks for a great recipe!

Oven Pancakes
According to my husband this was "addicting" though my kids would rather have regular pancakes. I added some brown sugar to the mix (not sure how much). After baking I cut it into dunkable pieces and served it with little cups of syrup and preserves. The family had fun experimenting with the different flavors. Quick and easy, it'll be a go to on those rainy Sundays when I don't feel like doing much, thanks for the recipe!
