Pumpkin Roll

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2001
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! I made this the night before Thanksgiving to take to the in-laws. However, since I am not a very good cook, I ended up forgetting to add the ginger to the cake batter. I did use it in the cream cheese batter and still turned out fine. I also didn't realize the cake could fit on one dishtowel and I broke it in a couple of spots trying to get it on one towel to roll it easier. Received rave reviews at the in-laws...I even took the leftovers form myself. Totally Awesome- just the right rich taste and texture.

Chicken Parmigiana

This recipe fit the bill perfectly. I am not an experienced cook- I generally take something out of the freezer then look online for a recipe. I am proud to say this chicken recipe was wonderful. My other-half also raved about how good it was. Thank you for a wonderful recipe.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2002
Easy and wonderful. Meat was very tender. I even had enough gravy left over for another dish later that week. Excellent!!

Restaurant-Style Potato Skins

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2002
Granted- I am not an experience cook. However, I just about passed out from smoke inhilation. For one, I don't have a deep fryer- so I tried the oil in the skillet. Well you can just about image how it went from there. I'm sure I had the oil set at too high of a temperature. I ended up charring the potatoes and tossing them out- they were so black they weren't even salvagible or edible.

Hamburger Potato Casserole

Reviewed: May 29, 2002
This was very easy. I actually used canned sliced potatoes to cut the time down to about 25 min. For the most part this was ok- it was missing something. Not one for throwing food away, I heated it up next day and added salt and more salt. It was better the next day. I probably won't make this anytime soon.

Apple Crumble Pie

Reviewed: May 29, 2002
Absolutely fantastic. The key to this recipe is to use a couple different types of apples. Took this to the inlaws and they loved it. Of course they still don't like me much- oh well.

Chrissy's Sweet 'n' Sour Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2002
Nice change of pace instead of green salads. Very good, but messy. I used extra virgin olive oil in place of the veg. oil. I also used red wine vinegar in place of the white. For a little extra added spice I threw in some celery seed.

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2002
What can I say- This is absolutely delish!!! I had made extra sauce as recommended by others, but found it to be too much. Next time I won't double the sauce. Actually used extra sauce to make bbq pork next time around. Fantastic!!!

I thought this was pretty good- though not great. I found it to be a little bland. May try again sometime.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2002
I didn't like this at all. I thought the cream cheese was just too much at the end. Althought, I still followed the recipe. I also wasn't fond of the golden mushroom soup either. My husband did like it, but unless he makes it I will not have it again.

Delilah's Frosted Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2002
These were OK. They were a little on the dry side and a tad too crunchy (all the way through) for me. When baking these cookies one needs to pay close attention because they tend to become brown quickly! I don't think I'd bake these again.

Candied Garlic Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2002
I was really nervous about this one especially for as much soy as it called for. I was gagging from the smell. However, I took the suggestions of others about boiling remaining sauce and adding cornstarch and water mix to thicken it. And the suggestion about putting the wings under the broiler. The wings were a big hit...although very messy. I was amazed at how good they smelled after they cooked. Even though they smelled good I still could stomach tasting them because of them being on a BONE. Next time I will definately use some boneless chicken strips that way I can have some too. I definately plan on making again.

D's Famous Salsa

Awesome!!! I just couldn't get enough of this. I did add just a hint of tabasco, but not too much. There was a cool taste, nice texture, and an awesome taste. I highly recommend and I will be making this again. Others at my party loved it too.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2002
These turned out great. I had debated between this and another bruschetta recipe. I never did find the sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil. I went to about 10 different grocery stores in the area. Regardless, they still were excellent. Will make again.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2002
Unfortunately I made entirely too much of this lasagna so my husband and I will still be eating this a week from now. This lasagna was VERY GOOD! I about fell on the floor when my uncle came up and told me he could do without all the other things I've made and just eat the lasagna. I actually received rave reviews from other family members and friends as well. AND I was the one in the family that no one thought I could cook. Thanks to your recipe Rosemary I've proved differently.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2003
I love this site sooooo much! It is definately recipes like this one that make a good cook. This recipe is definatly a keeper. I took suggestions of others halfing the butter and olive oil and adding alittle cornstarch and water to the mix to thicken up the sauce and served it over wide noodles.
