Well hello! My name is Michele but family & friends call me Shell ;-) in which I prefer. I am a 40 year young mom of 2 beautiful girls ages 13 & 5 in which thank God they are not picky eaters! I can hardly wait for the Holidays to get here or haveing a big cook out..the outcome is always rewarding!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything & everything & anything new & different... Breakfast however is one of my favorite meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well I really taught myself & got old recipes from the older women in my family. My mom was a good cook but was learning herself. She taught me how to garden & do home canning in which I still love doing till this day! I even went a few steps further & got into canning jellys, jams,apple butter & sauce...mmmmmm yummy!
My cooking triumphs
I have never gotten any complaints & am always asked to make such & such dishes,dips or meals. In my house I always ask each & everyone one of them to give me a few meal ideas of what they want in that month. Cuts all the thinking out for me while making my meal menu ;-)
My cooking tragedies
Oh Gosh! #1) Never never walk away from the kitchen while boiling anything! Eggs burst to the ceiling!#2)Fresh Beets out of the garden do the same thing & boy what a mess that is...really makes good wall dye!! lol #3)Don't forget to put the lid on the blender!

Meatball Spaghetti Sauce
Made just the meatballs & my own sauce ;0) going by the reviews I changed it some but not much... used 1 sm. onion, less milk & used Italian bread crumbs also baked them... mine came out just right not to moist not to dry. My family loved them... I made a double batch & froze the one for future meal ;0)

Cabbage Soup II
Simple easy to make and can freeze the left-overs. I used broth cubes & potatoes instead also used turkey ham because it cuts the salt down...I added more cabbage both chunked and shredded also added loved this! We had cornbread with this I will make again soon!
