This is the same recipe as my aunt gave my grandma and she gave me around twenty years ago an oldie but a goodie!! Always perfect and even better with cinnamon chips!

I always try a new recipe the way it is written before i make any changes and I am glad for that this time because it was great as-is it was moist and flaky and biscuity the way my moms coffecake always was and it was eaten so fast I know I am making this again!

WOW!! My family said this was a new tradition! My dad kept sneaking until it was gone!! Definitely a keeper! I did freeze the bottom layer as suggested!
