Chicken Costa Brava

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2004
I'll admit that I was very wary of the combination of the ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised, as were my dinner guests. The word to describe this dish is complex. As others have noted, every bite is different, but they work together. It definitely will get the guests talking. Thank you!

Rosemary Chicken with Orange-Maple Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2004
I gave this only three stars as half liked it, the other half didn't. I was on the side that didn't care for it much. I found it cloyingly sweet. Those with a sweet tooth will love it. The sauce was definitely too thin, so I used the other reviewer's cornstarch suggestion. Worked well. I may not repeat this dish--only if requested by those who liked it.

Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2004
I made these with my 5-year-old niece. She had a great time rolling the dough out and making different shapes. It was extremely kid-friendly in preparation and taste. Very good and easy recipe! A keeper.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2002
Amazing recipe. I used regular Russets because they were cheaper, and it was still awesome. It also freed up so much time in my Thanksgiving prep. Everyone raved about the creaminess of the potatoes. Thank you so much for sharing it! It's a definite keeper.

Chicken Andouille Gumbo

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2002
God, this was good. Like one of the reviewers, I was intimidated by this Louisiana staple. I didn't use Andouille (just regular smoked) because I thought it would be too spicy for the sensitive palates in my family. I should have, though. Definitely go for it. Instead of cayenne, I used Tabasco. Yum. Loved this recipe. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Camp Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2002
The easiest and most delicious cornbread. I am allergic to eggs, ommitted them, and it was still moist. So sweet! Thank you so much. My mom's coworkers want the recipe.

Green Sauce Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2002
Oh My God! This was awesome, Dawn, thank you. My dad, who doesn't like Mexican food, loved it. I do wish I bought more sauce, though. I should have heeded the other reviewers. Some of the modifications I made were I used Kraft Mexican Four Cheeses instead of just Monterey Jack. Also, to add a more authentic touch, I used a 16 oz. jar of plain (not in vinegar) nopalitos. Cactus. Delicious. My whole family loved it. Thank you again!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2002
Very vinegary, which resembled a Filipino dish, adobo. I added more garlic powder and thyme, but the balsamic vinegar overpowered it. I'm not sure if I will make it again. If I do, I'd half the amount of vinegar and double the garlic.

Rosemary Marinated Lamb Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2002
Great recipe. I took one of the poster's suggestions and used red wine. Turned out awesome. I don't like roasting lamb because of the smell, but the chops work well. Thanks for this recipe!!

Crispy Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2002
I rarely give a recipe an overall rating of five stars. This one deserved every one of the stars. This was a true winner, and I couldn't believe how crispy and juicy it was! I used poultry seasoning, lots of paprika, and some garlic powder to season the flour. I know a recipe is good when my family devours the dish and asks when the next batch will be ready. Even my 3 year old niece ate two pieces! Thank you *SO* much for sharing this recipe.

Delectable cookies! I used oat flour due to a wheat allergy, and they're still delicious. My brother-in-law, an oatmeal raisin cookie connosieur loved them! I loved the cloves in them. Thank you so much!!

Garlic Chicken And Grapes

Reviewed: May 14, 2001
Fantastic recipe! Thank you for posting it! I made it for a Mother's Day luncheon, and it was a hit. The sweetness of the grapes really compliment the tangy mustard sauce. I heated the sauce through before serving, and doubled the portions because my family likes a lot of sauce. I served it with a saffron rice, and it was delicious!

Cindy's Tasty Wings

Reviewed: May 4, 2001
Very tasty, as the name suggests. My partner loved it, and I loved it as well! The temperature is too high, however. I baked them at 350 F for one hour, turning them over once at the 30 minute mark. They turned out perfectly! Thank you for sharing it!

Great recipe! Thanks so much for sharing it. My partner loved it. I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs, though. We prefer dark meat. The sauce was so tasty! A real winner, thanks again!
