Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2013
I make this frosting a lot because we can't stomach the store bought stuff anymore. The only thing I do differently is mix the cocoa with the butter first then alternate the powdered sugar and milk. Of course I use regular milk and it turns out great every time.

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2013
My family really like these. The only changes I made was to use quick cooking oats and didn't blend them up and I used a banana and a half. I don't keep milk powder on hand either so I omitted it. They brown pretty quickly because of the banana so watch them close. Very yummy!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2012
I tripled this recipe and got 90 med-lrg cookies. I used reg crunchy pb and reg milk choc chips. I used 1 cup margarine and 1/2 cup shortening. Butter is too expensive right now! I baked them for 10-11 minutes and cooled on the pan for a few. These are super yummy! They do fall apart easy when hot, but after they have cooled they are perfect!

Triple Bypass

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
I made my own version of this because we don't care for any canned chili. I used tomato sauce and chili seasoning in my meat mixture. I also didn't bother melting my velveeta, just sliced it and covered the top with it and crispy chopped bacon and put it back in the oven at 350 for 15 minutes. My family enjoyed it more than I did, but it was a nice change from the same old thing.

Microwave Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
This cake was pretty good. Did not make the sauce. Even with adding mini chocolate chips to the batter it was not chocolatey enough for me. The texture and moisture was fine. Served it with fresh whipped cream. Next time I'll make a genach to get more chocolate.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2012
This is the best PB cookie recipe out there. The secret to really good ones though is the addition of cinnamon! I know, sounds weird but you don't know it is there and it adds so much, everyone loves them. I doubled this recipe and added a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. The only other change I did was using a 1/4 of the fat being shortening, 1/4 margarine and 1/2 of it butter. We like a softer cookie which the shortening creates.

This is a very good coffeecake! I made 2 changes: used a can of evaporated milk and doubled the apples (used 1 can and 1.5 cups of homemade apple pie filling.) Yummy!

Strawberry Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
I used a store bought graham cracker crust and doubled the filling. Glad I did, I only had about a cup of filling extra after filling the shell. I garnished with sliced strawberries, if was just as pretty as it was yummy.

My family thought these were pretty good. I left out the peppers and used the garlic flavored crescent rolls. Will probably make these again.

Chocolate Chip Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
These are pretty good. Not sweet at all. In fact if it weren't for the chips they wouldn't be sweet enough and would be quite bland. I used extra peanut butter, but still wasn't enough for my family. This recipe made 24 muffins, if I make these again, I'll cut it in half.

Gooey Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
These are yummy, but I did change to suit what I had on hand. I used a chocolate cake mix, 12oz of cream cheese with 3 eggs and 4 C of powdered sugar. I also used a 10x15 pan because I like them not to be so thick. Turned out wonderful.

Oatmeal Yeast Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I love this bread. I wasn't sure what the texture would be like with the oatmeal, but it has a very smooth texture. I followed the recipe with the exception of using shortening instead of butter and I oiled the top with a little olive oil instead of butter. Yummy!

Country White Bread

This bread is good. It is pretty dense, and a bit sweet. It did dry out in only a couple of days, but then it made great french toast!
