Sour Cream Coffee Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2013
The only thing I changed was that I doubled the filling. Extremely moist and delicious. This was the second time I made this, everyone loves it!

Slow Cooker German-Style Pork Roast with Sauerkraut and Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
I woke up on New Years Day and my husband surprised me by having this in the crockpot after finding it online. He left out the caraway seeds but everything else was just as the recipe called for. It was absolutely delicious and he's not usually a cook. It is company worthy, and very easy to prepare.

Bacon-Wrapped Scallops

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
I also skipped the spinach and took the advice of another reviewer and brushed on lemon garlic and butter. I baked them first for 15 minutes at 425, then broiled them until brown and they were perfect. The bacon was done just right and the scallops were succulent. No leftovers, of course!

Smothered Filet Mignon

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
This was out of sight delicious! I marinated the filets about 90 minutes and when they were almost done on the grill, I put them in the pan that I carmelized the onions in, topped them with the onions and cheese and put the lid on till the cheese melted. I didn't want to lose any of that good blue cheese in the grill. The combination of the onions and blue cheese on the steak is awesome.

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
Gail, this was an awesome recipe. Is everyone afraid of mustard and lemon? Sometimes I think people are afraid to try things in a recipe and come up with their own ideas. The amounts of everything were perfect, and to all you people who think you know best, guess what, you all missed out. Why do you look for recipes if you change them totally before you even know what they taste like? Sometime a combination of ingredients surprise us when mixed together.

S.O.P.P.

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
I also made this recipe for years using sweet Italian sausage. I took the sausage out of the casing, cut it up and put all the ingredients in a microwave safe baking dish with a lid. I put everything in raw, also used red peppers added a little pepper and garlic powder and one half cup water. Cover on med high till done. My kids and husband went crazy over it, it was so flavorful and so easy. I haven't made it in a while but will try it this stir fry way. Hatfield sweet Italian sausage has virtually no fat.

Maple-Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
This tasted like pancake syrup with vinegar added. I should have taken the advice of another reviewer and added honey. I usually make red wine vinaigrette but was out of red wine vinegar. I'll never run out of it again.

Lemon Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
This is exceptional! My husband thinks I'm the best cook ever. The sauce is awesome. I did add a little more chicken broth but everything else was just as the recipe called for. He's a big fan of veal piccata - at our favorite Italian restaurant- but loved this just as much. Thanks for the recipe.

Absolute Best Liver and Onions

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
My husband loves liver and onions. He loved this recipe. I did use calves liver, which I always use, but this was much more tender than usual. He said it was the best he ever had.

Spinach Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
Sorry, but this recipe was not good. It was watery and not very flavorful. Maybe it needed more spices. I did add some garlic, like other people did, also salt and pepper. My husband did not like it and neither did I. I should just stick to my own cooking.

Amy's Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
Don't know what I did wrong, but this had way too much garlic and red pepper flakes, and I like spicy things. This definitely turned my husband off to turkey burgers.

Baked Pork Chops II

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
okay, I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but this was not that great. I bought the best thick boneless pork chops at a local market, followed the recipe to a tee, bought a big loaf of crusty bread and made garden fresh peas which my husband loves. Well, the sauce was tasty but the chops were dry and not tender. Maybe this would be better in the crock pot. Probably won't make it again.

Lobster Bisque I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
This is sensational. My husband had seconds and licked the bowl. The only thing I did different was I added 3 tbsp of tomato paste instead of the tomato puree, this helped to thicken it, and 1 more tbsp of sherry and a little more cream. I put bigger lobster pieces in it, too.

Salmon Fillets with Creamy Dill

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
Very good, but I made half the sauce, using low fat mayo. The suggestions from the other reviewers used yogurt, but yogurt has way too many carbs if you're on a low carb diet. We loved it the way I made it.

we loved this recipe. I just added a little less butter and a pinch of sugar to bring out the natural sweetness in the veggies.

Brilliant Sauteed Broccoli

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
I actually sauteed the raw broccoli with the spices and the lid on, stirring occasionally for a few minutes. Then I added the cheese and brown sugar mixture. I stiired it in over the heat then turned off the heat and let it set with a lid on for 2 minutes. It was perfect. My husband loved it and he is not a big veggie eater. It doesn't need to be pre steamed.
