About this Cook
I love to eat yummy food. When it finally started to show (I got chubby!) I switched to a low carb diet and lost all the weight in one month. Now I'm interested in collecting low carb recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake homemade bread, cookies and anything deep fried or barbequed.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I started cooking out of necessity when I was 12. My mom went back to work when the youngest sister started 1st grade and my older sister proved that she sucked at it. After eating a few unappetizing meals I decided to give it a try. I'm not going to say I never burned anything but I at least showed more potential and it turned out I really enjoyed it too.
My cooking triumphs
Parmesan chicken! On the protein diet it is hard to find variety in my food. I like lots of flavor and crunch. So I converted a recipe I found on here and instead of breading the chicken breast in half dry bread crumbs and half parmesan cheese I just left out the bread crumbs. It was so what I needed flavor wise.
My cooking tragedies
My first cake. My sister and I had to bake a cake for my older sister's 17th birthday. Some how, through multiple 'misinterpretations' of the baking instructions, we ended up with a two layer cake in a one layer pan. When it was finally done baking it felt really heavy but Sue and I didn't think twice about the weight of it. While it cooled we decided to make the icing for it. This was the age before the internet so we couldn't look up the difference between granular sugar and 'confectioner's sugar'. We had never heard of confectioner's sugar so we just assumed it was a fancy name for regular sugar. Did I mention our sister's favorite color was blue? The icing soon hardened into rock candy (almost) and then was all but impossible to cut. It has become the cake that every one remembers though!

Alice's Sour Cream Chicken Breasts
I thought it was pretty good I tossed steamed broccoli in it last minute. The chicken was super tender! My boyfriend didn't like the taste of the wine in it so when I make this again I will leave out the wine.

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks
i followed this recipe exactly. I thought it had too much basalmic vinegar taste. it wasn't bad but I guess I don't really like the vinegar taste on my steak.

Baja Sauce
it tastes and smells just like Taco Bells baja sauce! I left out the bell pepper and added a little extra jalapenos. I can't live with out it now.
