These were so easy, and turned out perfect! I followed the suggestion of another reviewer and left out the butter - the butter is not necessary.

Yogurt-Marinated Salmon Fillets (Dahi Machhali Masaledar)

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
This was yummy and easy! The only change I made was using greek yogurt instead of regular yogurt. I also didn't remove the excess before baking. The flavor was wonderful and it had just the right amount of spiciness. I'll be making this again.

Perfect! No modifications necessary. Everything cooked perfectly and the meat was really tender.

Slow Cooker Latin Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Delicious! I wasn't sure about the sweet potatoes but they really worked. I did as some others suggested and doubled the liquid (salsa, broth, and seasonings) and I also subbed a can of yellow corn for one can of black beans. I used a pack of bone-in chicken thighs with skin and a small pack of drumsticks. I skipped the browning part. Mainly because of the sweet potatoes, it needed closer to 6 hours to cook. I also thickened it with some corn starch at the end. I served it over brown rice. The flavors in this were awesome, and it was easy to throw together!

Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2010
This was good when I was in a pinch and out of A-1. Not the same, but still good. The mustard was overpowering so I would use less of that. I also added some seasoned salt and some brown sugar.

Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
This just didn't work. I only baked this for 30 minutes and the pork was overcooked and the apples were undercooked. It was way too much liquid, and not nearly enough flavor. I do like the idea of combining these ingredients, but it needs a thicker sauce.

Red Cabbage and Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
Delicious! I followed others' suggestions and subbed apple cider vinegar and brown sugar. And it didn't need the full cooking time. Will definitely be making this one again!

Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Beer

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
Very good, and super easy! I incorporated others' suggestions and added sauteed onion and garlic, honey mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, and caraway seeds. I also tossed in some sliced mushrooms. This did not turn out mushy. I would not take the casings off the sausages - I think they would fall apart. I served this with applesauce and baked potatoes - had I planned ahead, I think german potato salad would have gone with it nicely. I will add that I used fresh polish sausage. Most of the photos appear to be of smoked. (The recipe didn't specify which to use.)

Peachy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I used this recipt to use up some fresh peaches I had that were getting soft. Like other reviewers suggested, I used OJ for the liquid and also added soy sauce. The chops were ready before the sauce thickened so I took them out, turned up the heat on the sauce, and thickened it with a bit of cornstarch. This had a very nice flavor!

Vegetarian Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
Delicious! I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. No issues with it being watery or being undercooked as others had. I liked that this didn't use spinach, because it seems like almost every other quiche recipe does. The cinnamon added a very nice flavor! Only 2 small complaints - first, the recipe didn't specify how much to sautee the veggies. I guessed and did it til they were totally soft and they turned out well. Also I didn't get the whole lining the shell with foil thing. When I took the foil off, it tore chunks of the shell, since it was quite soft and doughy after being in the oven for 5 minutes. But those are minor complaints. This one's a definite keeper!

This was delicious! Even my boyfriend, who doesn't like German potato salad, had to admit his was good. I used a little less potatoes because I like mine extra saucy.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
I did marinate the chops overnight in a mix of soy sauce and apple juice, and I substituted light butter. I agree with what others have written about the amount of sauce - I QUADRUPLED the sauce recipe (still just 2 apples) and it turned out just right. Very nice flavor.

Coconut Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Yummy! I just had some amazing coconut rice at a restaurant, and this recipe re-creates it! It's definitely stickier than regular rice. And make sure to stir frequently so it doesn't clump or burn. I used light coconut milk instead of regular. Very easy.

Quick and Easy Thai Style Coleslaw

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Delicious and super easy! I followed others' suggestions and added a tablespoon each of soy sauce and asian chili-garlic sauce, and I also added cilantro. I disagree with some reviewers' comments that it was too sweet or fishy - I didn't find that to be the case at all. This was easy and a nice healthy substitute for mayo-based slaw.

Sesame Seared Tuna

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Delicious and easy! I did as others suggested and marinated in the sauce for a little while. I also cooked 3 minutes each side over medium heat. I made sure to use high-quality tuna - I don't know how I'd feel about using supermarket tuna on this one.

Curried Hash Browns

Yummy! Similar to potatoes my favorite brunch place makes. I used olive oil instead of butter, skipped the green onions since I didn't have any on hand, and added cumin. Very good with ketchup!
