Homemade Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
Very easy to make and it tasted great! I used canned tomatoes since I had some extra on hand and they worked out perfectly. I will definitely use this recipe in the future!

These are so easy to make, and have great flavor. I was pleasantly surprised when the guy said that he loved it and that I should put it in my regular rotation!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
I love making cake balls! They are quite time consuming but make a LOT of little finger foods to take to a party. There are so many options and flavors to combine that every time you can bring something new! I have tried vanilla with buttercream frosting as well as chocolate... I am pretty sure the chocolate got better reviews but they were both good. Next time I want to try red velvet and cream cheese.

Disappearing Marshmallow Puffs

I love these! I made these as a kid and still love them today. I don't bother with the glaze, they are super sweet as is and so good already! This is a great recipe to make with kids!

Monster Cookies VI

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
These were a hit with a bunch of guys at a get together! Very easy to make and had a lot of flavor and variety all rolled into one cookie :) I followed the recipe and added one suggestion which was to refrigerate the dough for a few minutes before rolling out and baking! The cookies turned out pretty flat but tasted great! I will definitely use this recipe again.

Best Ever Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
These were amazing! I followed the recipe very closely, but did not add bacon as I didn't have any handy. I added some spices to the cream cheese mixture and to the bread crumbs to make sure the flavor really popped. These turned out SO good, even better than the ones that you can buy frozen at the grocery store. Mine did overflow a bit in the oil, but just very little of the cheese seeped out, most of it stayed inside. I made a huge batch of 40-50 poppers and froze most of them. I have heated some up in the toaster oven about a week later and they are excellent! Just wait for them to cool and toss them into a freezer bag!

Dawn's Easy Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
I made the cookies and left out the Bourbon completely, they turned out GREAT! I also left out coconut and pecans in the end, but everyone who ate these absolutely loved them! I've already gotten a request to make these again for the holidays. This is a super easy recipe to use with any cake mix/icing combination. I'm going to try others at some point!

Cookie Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
These are delicious and so easy to make. I've made these a few times for parties, and they are gone within the hour! Although they can be a bit time consuming, what with rolling all of the balls out, and then coating and decorating each one, the recipe is very simple, and it's hard to mess up. Refrigerating the balls before you dip them will save a lot of mess, as I had a few crumble apart on me toward the end. The end product is SO worth the time and effort put into making them. Everyone loves them!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
Great chocolate cake recipe. I halved it and used it to make cupcakes, made a dozen perfectly. It was very moist, and not super sweet, but still tasted great. No changes to the recipe, works great as is.

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
This icing is excellent, and SO delicious! I'm definitely going to use this from now on! I had to restrain myself from eating it all right out of the bowl, it was so good! Not too sugary and sweet, which I find is the case in most recipes. I added a bit of extra vanilla than what was called for, and used all butter instead of the butter/shortening mix. I also halved the entire recipe, as I was only making a dozen cupcakes, and it was the perfect amount. This is one of my new staple recipes.

I used a homemade brownie recipe rather than a box mix, and added mini chocolate chips to the top. Turned out great, they taste terrific!

Chocolate Mint Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
I decided to try this recipe even though I didn't have any peppermint extract on hand. I followed the cookie recipe exactly and they came out perfectly! I agree with other reviews about following the baking time exactly.. if they are in even a minute too long, they will get very hard. 11 minutes seemed just right for me. I started with the normal directions for the filling, which made it too thin, and when tested in a sandwich, came running out the sides making a big mess. I ended up adding about 1/2 cup more confectioner's sugar to get it to the consistency that I thought would work between the cookies. I suggest either adding more sugar, or adding the milk gradually to get the thickness that you like. I also added a dash of vanilla extract, since I wasn't using mint, to give it a bit more flavor. After filling the cookies and letting them set, they were perfect! Not too messy, and they tasted great. And after adding to the filling, I ended up having just enough for my cookies, with just 3 left over without filling. Not bad!

Easy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
These pancakes turned out even better than when I use the premade mix from the store. I followed the other reviews and used only 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and I also added a dash of vanilla. They were light and fluffy, and turned out perfectly. I will make pancakes this way from now on!

Buckeyes I

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
This is my favorite recipe, I've used this for a few years now, and always make these for Christmas. I get so many requests to make them, and have to make special packages for people who just love them! I usually have to double the recipe to make enough for everyone. I also usually end up using more chocolate than in the recipe, so I just buy a few bags of chocolate chips and use however much I need until I'm done coating them all. yum!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
These cookies were super easy to make, the recipe had ingredients that I had on hand at the time, and the cookies turned out perfectly. They were nice and crisp, just the perfect amount of crispness. Just be sure not to over bake them, or they will get too hard. As soon as you see any browning around the edges, take them out! I added sugar and crystal sprinkles before they were baked, so they would stay on the cookies, and they turned out wonderfully. I will use this recipe any time I need sugar cookies!

Four-Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
I had never made homemade macaroni and cheese before that wasn't baked, so I was a bit worried that I'd mess it up somehow. I pretty much followed the recipe, except just used cheddar cheese that I had on hand, and it turned out great! Very cheesy and creamy, and had a great taste! I think that if it's too bland for you, just add a few spices and test it until it's right. I simply used salt and pepper, and I was happy with the results.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly, and seemed to get the results that others did, by the looks of the pictures. I was sure that the cheese would get all melty, but it stayed in little strips on the chicken. It was definitely a different way to do chicken for me, and I will definitely make this again if I have a craving for cheesy chicken! Gave it a nice, unique flavor.

Fudgy Buttons

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
This is an excellent recipe to satisfy a sweet tooth with ingredients you always have in your kitchen. I rolled the dough into balls straight out of the bowl and flattened them into discs onto wax paper, which seemed the easiest way to prepare them. They tasted pretty good, considering the time it takes to make them (next to none!) with hardly any clean up involved. If I make these again, I might try drizzling chocolate over them to fancy them up a bit. Otherwise, a great little treat to have around the house. Seems like it would be an easy recipe to make with kids involved. I'd also recommend doubling this recipe if you are making them for more than one or two people, or would like to keep them around for more than a day.

Simple Tuna Melts

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
I make these occasionally, and I think this is a different way to use tuna, and they always turn out yummy. Sometimes i will use shredded cheese and mix it in with the tuna, to get all over melty and cheesy. It's super easy to throw together with whatever type of bread you have around, and the ingredients are simple!

Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
For some reason, these cookies came out a bit dry for me. Not sure if it was the type of butter I used, but that was the only thing that could have possibly ruined the recipe for me. I still got compliments on the cookies, but they were too dry for me. The taste was great, and it seems like a good recipe, but the cookies were definitely too dry after the first day.
