Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

It was good, but not good enough for all the trouble. I liked everything but if I make this again, I'll skip the sauce recipe and just use a quality jarred alfredo sauce & add some jack cheese (I can't believe it tasted so good w/the monterrey jack cheese). My sauce was so lumpy I had to run it through a sieve before adding the cheeses. I felt it had way too much flour for the amount of milk & cream. It also made way too much sauce for the amount of pasta & veggies, and that's after I added broccoli to the mix. I grilled my chicken outside & used it the next day, which was a lot more flavorful than sauteing imho. In winter months I would saute the chicken on the stove. All that said, this was a tasty pasta dish & on par with restaurant pasta. Thank you Emily!

Zucchini Herb Casserole

This is delicious! I used extra spice, and subbed mozzarella cheese (will use cheddar next time, it was a little stringy like pizza from the melted mozz.) Used extra tomatoes, and 1/2 c. rice. I love this, and next time will use more rice, it's a very good vegetarian meal. As so many others have noted, you could use many more veggies if you like & have on hand. Really fresh tasting, and the zucchini didn't get soggy as I expected it to. Thanks for a keeper.

Apple Crisp II

Very good. I baked mine for over an hour & it still wasn't quite done in the center so next time I may saute the apple mixture for 5 minutes or so. Also it's very sweet, so I'll reduce both sugars by at least 25%. But it's still delicious this time, thanks to Ms. Kester for posting.

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Really good bars! I used butter instead of shortening as others have suggested. I used frozen berries that I defrosted & drained (a LOT of liquid came off so I'm glad I did defrost them first). Baked for almost an hour. I did shake a little cinnamon & grated some nutmeg on top. Wish I'd read the reviews first, I would have added some almond extract as someone noted, bet that's a great addition. Also, I wonder if a little oatmeal would be a nice addition to the crust/topping (sub for maybe 1/2 c of the flour?).

Oven Roasted Teriyaki Chicken

Very good. I'm glad I used non-stick foil to line the pan, it was nice & sticky when done. I subbed brown sugar for the splenda.

Homesteader Cornbread

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

good cookies. But these are more cakey IMHO. Also mine didn't spread at all. After the first batch came out of the oven, I flattened the rest before they went in the oven so they weren't scoop shaped! But the flavor was very good, DH really likes these cookies.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Very good marinade. I didn't have any parsley on hand so left it out. I marinated a sirloin steak for about 4 hours, grilled it then topped w/a pat of seasoned butter & let it rest 10 min. Sliced & served, we loved it.

Taco Seasoning I

Aunt Betty's French Dressing

I love this dressing. I use it for taco salad & it really complements it. I usually mince the onion & just shake it up in a jar or bottle. I also use about 1/2 c. sugar rather than the 3/4 c. in the recipe. Thanks for sharing it Maggie.

Creamy Shell Pasta Salad

Very good & quick to make. I read so many reviews saying it had too much vinegar, well I love vinegar but it it a bit heavy on the vinegar, so next time I'll cut back a bit. I was out of carrots so subbed celery & it was fine. This makes a great dressing, def. a keeper recipe.

White Velvet Cutouts

I've had this recipe for years and always loved them. The cream cheese makes them a little tangy and they decorate well. My recipe calls for 1/2 tsp baking powder with the flour otherwise is the same. The dough is sticky, so I usually use a lot of flour and/or roll in between plastic wrap after chilling. I add some lemon juice & milk to 10X sugar for the frosting then put sprinkles on top.

Kielbasa with Brussels Sprouts

I didn't like this very much, but it's not due to the recipe, which was fine. I thought I'd try Brussels sprouts and DH loves them, but I learned I definitely do not like Brussels sprouts! I like cabbage only a little and these tasted too much like cabbage to me. The kielbasa and onions part was good tho.

World's Best Lasagna

This lasagna came out excellent. I divided it and froze half, as 2 of us can't eat it all. I also added a jar of prepared sauce to it, I always have to add more sauce, next time I'll just make more of the homemade sauce. I will make this again.

Chicken Noodle Casserole

This casserole came out delicious. I thought the broth and chicken mixture was too much liquid, but after I blended it with the bernaise sauce and baked, it was nice and moist. I didn't cook the chicken mixture the full 15 minutes, more like 10, and I sprinkled parmesan cheese on top before baking. Not a particularly quick recipe, but the flavor was worth the extra prep time.
