Absolutely fantastic! Kids asked me to never buy store bought syrup again. This combined with buttermilk pancakes...can't be beat!

Fantastic and easy! I used 2 boxes of pudding mix prepared with milk before combining with sour cream and cool whip. French vanilla cake was very good with this.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
Fantastic!! Used cayenne in stead of red pepper flakes. Sauteed onion with garlic before adding to meat. All I had was Colby/Jack mix and I can't imagine that it could taste better with any other cheese. Added 1 beaten eggs and a litte bit of milk. Instant favorite in our house! Served with Newman's Own Sockarooni sauce and thin spaghetti noodles. Thanks!!

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
Wonderful recipe! I used it in a different way, but the ingredients were basically the same...except that I used 1/2 C plain nonfat yogurt in place of sour cream, and 1/2 the cheese. I mixed everything together with homemade enchilada sauce and placed the mixture on top of tater tots...no tortillas. My kids loved it!

Banana Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
Very yummy! I used 2 previously frozen bananas which needed almost no mashing. I added 1/8 C peanut butter in the batter before flour. Kids absolutely loved them, even without frosting.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
Fantastic, easy and fast! I started by cooking the chicken in a skillet, then used the same skillet for my garlic and sun-dried tomatoes. Added 2 zucchinis and 1C of milk, otherwise per recipe. Can't wait to have the left overs tonight!

Finnish Meatballs (Lihapyorykoita)

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
Tuli suorastaan koti-ikava naita syodessani! This was fantastic, and very authentic (I grew up eating these meatballs). Even with a few "leaner modifications" the meatballs melted in my mouth. I used Jenny-O turkey, panko bread crumbs and lowfat evaporated milk. Served with mashed potatoes and beets...kids asked if we could have this everyday. Kiitos, kiitos!

Pretty Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Oh TaraNicole....I'm in LOVE with this recipe! I cook often, mostly chicken meals and this must be 1 of the most favorite chicken maridanes I've ever tried. I really thought that there's a typo in the recipe (2 t black pepper) but after reading many reviews, I made it like written, except for olive oil and soy sauce (used 1/3 C each...plenty!). Wau, even my 2 and 4 year old kids said that chicken was very yummy tonight. I let it marinade for 3 hours and cooked in a 350F bbq...wauzers! Thank you!!!

Potato, Broccoli and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
WOW! I've never made broccoli soup before and this came out better than I had ever hoped for...even my 3-year-old loved it. 1st sauteed 1/3 sweet yellow onion, then added 2 cloves of minced garlic. Then added 7-8 large cubed Idaho potatoes, 3 C fresh broccoli and cooked them together with 4 C water and 3 t chicken buillion + 1 C milk. Per others' suggestion, I used potato masher and it worked so well. Added 1/4 t white pepper, kosher salt and 1 C mild cheddar cheese. I added 1T corn starch to thicken the soup to my liking.Oh, I had to walk to the computer to write this review so I would stop eating :)

So easy and so good! Very moist chicken with only 1.5 hours of marinating time. I broiled 5 min, turned the pieces and broiled another 2-3 min. Very yummy with pasta and alfredo sauce.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Wow, the best stroganoff I've had! I don't usually eat red meat but decided to buy $5.00 worth stew meat (2.2 lbs) just for this recipe. I took others' advise and used beef boullion, added fresh garlic, eliminated onion and instead of sour cream, I added 1/4 C plain yogurt and 2 oz low fat cream cheese (it's soft straight from the fridge unlike the regular cream cheese). I also used healthy choice CREAM of mushroom soup and did NOT add any salt. I added 10-12 sliced white button mushrooms 1/2 h before I was planning to serve, but they needed another 30 min to be as soft as we like them. The sauce itself is a total treat with rice. I'm in love with this recipe after the modifications.

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
So good and easy! Read the other reviews, made a few minor changes/additions and served with "best marinara sauce yet" from this site. I used 1/4 C wheat flour, 1/4 C seasoned breadcrumbs, 1/2 t garlic powder, fresh parsley and 1 shallot. Last season I had shredded giant zucchinis and froze them in 3 C portions. Now all I had to do was take 1 bag out, put in colander and put under hot water to thaw it very quickly. Then squeeze the moisture out and it was ready. My 3 year-old and 18-month-old kids loved this for dinner.

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
The BEST shrimp recipe! I've tried to cook shrimp with many recipes and never really want to use the same one again...something missing. This is the one I'll stick with. I bought a 1/4 lbs raw (deveined) shrimp and used 1/4 recipe. Used ketchup in stead of tomato paste, and used Frank's for the hotsauce. I only marinated for 1/2 h because otherwise the lemon juice will make shrimp meat tough. I put shrimp under the broiler for 2 min, took it out and turned, topped with little bit of parmesan cheese and put under broiler for another 2 min...perfect (med size shrimp). The only thing I'll change next time is to use .5 t less oregano. I ate the whole 1/4 lbs by myself (burb).

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
Outstanding! I made this with pork and it was one of the best pork marinades I've ever tried. I made only 1/4 of the recipe and it was plenty for 5 steaks. I let them marinate all day (8-9 h) , browned both sides in pan for a few minutes and then followed some of the reviews and baked them at 350F for 40 min or so. Even my little kids loved them because they came out SO moist and tender. Thank you :)

Peppermint Meringues

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
So easy, so good and gone SO fast. My 2-year-old loved them and now I'll be making these for little treats all the time (just her size if I make 45-50). I followed the recipe exactly and next time will take others' suggestions and experiment with chocolate chips, food color and extracts. Thanks!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
I have to agree with everyone else regarding this recipe, it is excellant. I added 1/4 t cloves because I love them in anything sweet, and used pecans in stead of walnuts for the topping. It was a great and easy pie with -never fail pie crust II- from this site.

Never Fail Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
The easiest and flakiest crust I've ever made. Definitely great for those (of us) who aren't very talanted in the baking department. I made this with a pumpkin pie recipe from this site and this will my "special crust" from now on. I got 3 nice 9" crusts out of a single recipe.

Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
The best tortillas I've ever tasted. I make 1/2 recipe at a time which gives me 9-10 tortillas. I like it better with more white flour so here's my version of this great recipe: 1.5 C whole wheat flour 1 C all purpose flour 1 t salt 1/4 t baking soda .5 C canola oil 3/4 C boiling water (in the microwave 1.5 min) I make 9-10 balls and put them on a cookie sheet under a towel, let rest for 1-2 h. Then I fatten the roll with my hand (on papertowel to absorb any extra oil), then roll paper thin on lightly floured counter (I also put some flour on the rolling pin). I have my stove on high heat (#5, and a round griddle) and these only take 15-20 sec per side to bubble a bit and get a few darker brown marks. They are so good that I eat them as snacks with no filling and my 2-year-old loves them too. I'll try them with scrambled eggs & salsa next time. Thank you for this recipe, I'll keep it forever.

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
Love it! I made the same changes as others have mentioned: 1/2 white, 1/2 wheat flour, 1/2 C oil, 1/2 C unsweetened apple sauce, 1/2 C Splenda/sugar mix, 3 t cinnamon and I added 1 t cloves. I chopped up 3 red apples and baked the mix in a bundt pan for 53 min. Such a great cake and pretty healthy with all of those changes. I already put a large section in the freezer because this cake could be eaten in a day...that's how tasty and light it is.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
Wow!! These are my absolute favorite cookies from now on. I didn't have all the right ingredients so I just hoped for the best with what I had on hand. I used 1/2 C regular vegetable shortening and 1 stick of Blue Bonnet light. I cut the sugar way down and used 1/4 C spenda/sugar mix and 1/4 C brown sugar...but I increased vanilla to 2 t. I used Sunmaid raisins and cooked the cookies for 9 min. They were perfect!!! And with the lower sugar amounts I feel a little less quilty after I ate 8 of them (my batch made about 55 cookies). Yum!
