French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
I was dumb founded this am when my boyfriend took my last can of F/O to work and I had none for our pot roast. I had to find a replacement and fast. I searched and found one prior to this but it lacked in the flavor I was looking for. I wanted Bold and Rich and all I was getting was buttery and bland. Thank you for saving dinner. The recipe prior to yours had the base of this one so I was able to improvise and combine all the much needed ingredients from yours into it. I do not know of any other way to cook roast to my palate without the F/O and thanks to my past experiences with deviating from this recipe neither will my boyfriend. Thanks to you tonight he will be asking how I improved on an already perfect recipe. Only you and I will know that it was your rescuing me today that made it so. Many thanks and for the best pot roast combine this with 2 cups strong black coffee and simmer in crock pot all day. I have the Best broth and gravy ever to look forward to tonight. I hope you enjoy the shared recipe. Kudos on a recipe that is fatisimo.

Seared Scallops with Pineapple, Ginger and Lemon Grass Salsa

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Ok Seattle Food Geek should be on Top Chef he could give the contestants who "think" they can cook scallops a run for their money. Excellent recipe and detailed so much so that even I cooked perfect scallops. Thank you so much.

Caramel Apple Cranberry Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Okay so I didn't use this recipe but threw one together myself when I ended up with leftover apple pie and cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving. The result was delicious and I recommend this recipe as had I had this to follow I am for sure it would have been an even bigger hit. Great way to "recycle" holiday left overs.

Wedding Cake Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
I was looking for an all white frosting and found this one. As with any recipe I scaled the ingredients one by one to my family's own personal taste. I used 1 1/4 C. Crisco, 3/4 C. Butter ( less to ensure I got white frosting), Dropped the Milk to 2 tsp.( wanted a thick frosting but spreadable) and the Confectioners' sugar to 3 C. Originally, tried 4 C. but was still way to sweet. As recommended by another viewer I whipped the Crisco and Butter individually and then together. If I could rate the reviewers it would be 5 stars based on their advice however, I feel that something has been omitted in the recipe and rate it a "3".

Red Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
I have now established a new spaghetti sauce recipe as this was no where near a "Red Enchilada Sauce". The red coloring in a "TRUE" red sauce is yielded from the use of Mexican Chili Powder. I was very skeptical from the start as it calls for tomato sauce as the main staple for the base of the sauce. My boyfriend and I both will be using this for our next Italian Meal instead. Even though this did not rate as a "Red Enchilada Sauce" to add to my recipe box it does merit a new title and is still useful as a marinara and is rather spicy and an abundant of flavor.
