Beth's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
These cookies are fantastic! I will sometimes make them sweeter by using milk chocolate chips or occasionally mix it up with 1 cup of semi sweet and 1 cup of milk chocolate chips. I also always use all butter, I've tried the butter Crisco combo, and prefer the all butter. I've made this recipe probably 100 times or more, and never had a bad batch! From those that have tried them they are universally loved. Even those that tend to prefer the crispy chocolate chip cookies, appreciate and enjoy the softer chocolate chip cookie that I make.

Tom and Jerry

Absolutely great recipe for Tom and Jerry's. As mentioned, do not make ahead, but this is simply wonderful for holiday parties. Very yummy, and you can adjust the alcohol to taste. It even tastes good with no alcohol for any children or under 21 guests at your gathering.

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2004
This is by far the best pie crust that I have ever had. I haven't changed a thing from the original recipe other than one time when I ran out of distilled white vinegar and used apple cider vinegar in its place and the crust was still amazing. Every time I make this recipe I get rave reviews from everyone, oftentimes it is compared to "Grandma's" crust.

Texas Brownies II

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2004
I debated between 3 and 4 stars, and went for the higher rating because the product is good. However, this is NOT a brownie. This is a very dense cake. I doubled the chocolate at other's suggestion and felt the chocolate-ness of it was perfect. I also substituted one cup of brown sugar for one of the cups of white sugar. As the other Texas Brownie (cake) suggests cinnamon, I a tsp of cinnamon to this recipe. I also used the frosting recipe from Texas Brownies I. I am very happy with the finished product but again must stress that this is not a Brownie - it is a moist dense chocolate cake.

Farm Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2003
This is an AWESOME recipe! I take it to most pot-lucks that I go to and everyone raves about it. I am not very good at rolling out pie crust to begin with, and do have some problems getting this monster crust on this, but I have solved the problem by making a little extra dough, so I don't have to roll it out so thin. I also add about a teaspoon of freshly ground nutmeg and a dash of cloves for a little extra flavor. There is way too much frosting for my taste, so I cut the frosting in half, drizzle it, and then add a few sprinkels of cinnamon sugar before the frosting sets.

This is super easy to make, and it is a HUGE hit everywhere I take it. It is the perfect combonation of Sweet and Tart! The recipe is perfect as-is!

Pumpkin Bars IV

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2001
This is a wonderful recipe to "whip up" at the last minute. They are very moist, but not too crumbly, and taste great served with whip cream! However, they are best the first day after they are made, so I don't recommend making them too far in advance. Also, I added a dash (aprox 1/2 tsp) of Pumpkin Pie Spice to the batter for a little extra kick.
