Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
So good! So easy! Try it as is first and then make changes the next time you make it if you need to. We always have to make double batches of this so everyone is happy.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
Of course this all depends on what salsa and which chili spices you use but if they are your favorites, your chili will be fantastic! This is one of the easiest, tastiest chili recipes that I've come across!

Peanut Butter Apple Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
My husband really liked this dip for his celery sticks. I wasn't thrilled with the texture after I added the apple butter. I'm a texture kind of gal so it threw me off. Tasted good though!

Vegetable Dill Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
Just as good as I remembered it to be! Didn't change a thing to the recipe! Best to let it sit in the fridge for at least 3 hours. Make it in the morning or early afternoon for an evening get together.

Warm Dijon Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
Now our official favorite potato salad! We really like dill pickles and the dressing was very reminiscent of that flavor. I used 4 large, red potatoes, doubled the amount of dressing/onions, and used regular mayo (didn't have lite in the fridge). I also used "salad vinegar" from Heinz instead of cider. Not sure what the difference is but it was very tasty! We really liked the tang of the dressing and the fact that you could eat the potato salad right away and not wait for it to cool in the fridge.

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
This was incredibly simple to make and extremely tasty! I doubled the recipe and used green enchilada sauce instead of the tomato sauce, as recommended. I also added a sprinkle of garlic salt over the cheese layer between the peppers. Our daughter is a vegetarian and loved it! I also cooked crumbled pork sausage for my husband and I and sprinkled over the top before serving. A little sour cream and some salsa and we were set!

I was expecting more flavor for all the trouble they were to stuff. I won't be making these again. .

Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Easy as pie! The tastiness of the chicken depends on how season it as you cook it. We like to pull apart a roasted chicken from the grocery store to save time! We also throw in a can of cream of potato soup with the cream of chicken. Add a couple of tablespoons of milk to thin it all down. We also add a little crushed pepper and a bit of garlic salt. Make sure to cut slits at the top of the pie to let out the steam or the inside will be runny.

Pecan Pie Bars I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
My family liked these but I found them a little runny and sticky the next day. It was like the topping ingredients started separating while it sat over night.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
We've been using this marinade for YEARS! We don't add the hot pepper sauce. We use it on chicken! We marinade boneless, skinless chicken breasts and grill them on the bbq pit. We also take what's left of the marinade and boil it down on the stove, skimming off any fat off the top, and serve it as an au jus on the side. It's tangy and salty. We love it!

Chocolate Pretzel Rings

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Amazing! Used the square pretzel snaps, peppermint kisses and the red and green m & m's. They couldn't have been cuter or tastier! Made regular ones too. They were incredibly easy and looked adorable on a Christmas themed platter!

Emily's Famous Hash Browns

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Ok, I cheated, I used bagged, shredded potatoes, but NOT frozen. I was too lazy to grate potatoes myself on Christmas morning. After that I followed the recipe to the T! The potatoes did come out nice and crispy but I thought even with the onion they were missing a bit of flavor. I'm guessing it's because I didn't use freshly grated potatoes. I will definitely try these again!

We used polish sausage instead of Italian and it was still delicious! I think next time we'll double the meat though because we would like it meatier.

Sweet Onion Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
I made this for my vegetarian daughter for Thanksgiving. She loved it! It's a great basic recipe! I added some red onion slices and a few sliced green onions too. I also mixed in a couple of table spoons of Gorgonzola into the onion mixture after it cooled before putting it all into the shell.

Quick Crescent Pecan Pie Bars

I also added extra pecans, there just didn't seem to be enough when I mixed it all together. I also added some semi-sweet chocolate chips. It was pretty good but not "outstanding". I reserve 5 stars for recipes that I can't stop eating!
