My alterations: Used shortening instead of butter-flavored shortening, used 1/2 cup 100% whole wheat flour in place of some of the all-purpose flour, omitted the raisins (only because I didn't have any... but they are still delicious with or without). I also used an ice cream scoop to make the cookies a bit bigger and baked them 13 minutes. They came out slightly undone in the middle, but when they cooled were very firm yet moist. Hardly needed milk.
