Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
Easy, fluffy and thick. I did not have vinegar on hand so I used lemon juice instead. Came out perfect! Thanks so much!

Mexican Bean Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
One of the best bean salads I have ever had. I have not had anything like it before. It reminds me of one of a Tex-mex infusion side dish. So Yummy, so easy!

Sweet Corn Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
Great Great Great! I look the foil off the last 5 minutes to allow the cake to brown. It was just my personal preference.

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
I thought it was okay. If there is less oil then I think it could be better. My husband loved this considering he does not like Spanish/Mexican rice. He said it was fresh tasting because it was moist and not dried out.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
This is good and fairly easy to make. But, I would consider the quality for pot luck, or "home" food. I can not say it is 5 stars. I think it was okay.

Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2009
Made lamb as was, with the exception I used foil to prevent burning. The lamb tasted wonderful, and the mustard was not over powering. It was wonderful.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
The recipe was very easy, very fast. I would suggest a strong blue cheese, and if pork is not your forté, I would use a steak.

Thought it was perfect! The texture, hardness, and ease of making the fudge was spot on.

Cheeseburger Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
I made this recipe as is. I like that it is simple, quick, and easy. I rated this a 4 because it tastes good, but it is not wowing me. I feel that this recipe does not taste like a cheese burger. I would have to say that this tastes more like cream ground beef soup.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
My husband loves this, and he does not like canned tuna fish! This was a very simple base recipe that is very versitile for individual tastes.

Bavarian Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
Very good, it has a wonderful taste that is Bavarian. The was easy to make. I can say that as a left over it was better the first time around despite the appearance from the corn starched gravy being gelled. But, as a left over the meat becomes more seasoned.

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
Very very moist, very hearty, and just wonderful. If you are having problems with the bread becoming too dense, there is no need for gluten. The best thing you can do is make sure not to tear the bread when you kneed it, and kneed it properly. Kneeding the bread is very important in order for the bread to not become dense. Make sure you kneed it the second time around, as this is just as important as the first time, especially if you are kneeding by hand.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
I followed this recipe to the "T", with only one slight modification. I used soft silk cake flour instead of regular flour. For the former complaint about the cake being dry, I can say after 3 days the cake was still moist. This cake had the right amount of sweetness, chocolate, and the texture was light and fluffy. So, for it to be stated that the cake was a "wal-mart" equivalent and dry, was incorrect. I could see if you use a sugar frosting the cake could seem more store bought, but if you use a stable whipped creamed frosting the cake will taste like heaven.

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
I give this recipe 4 stars, and recommend using the bread flour. I was hoping this recipe would have produced pretzels with a dark brown crust. I can say that making the pretzels was not difficult, and the taste is great right out the oven. My husband and I did not care for them at room temperature, and it could have been because I did not have bread flour and it seemed to make the pretzels a bit chewy.

Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
I give this recipe 4 stars because the recipe is not specific enough on the quantity of cucumbers, or how thin to cut the cucumbers/ onions. Thin is a relative word. I felt it left a bit of questioning when preparing this food. I also feel that this recipe was way too sweet. I would cut back on the sugar by half, and add about half a teaspoon of pepper. Other than that the dish was good, not great, simple, and quick.

The bread was very easy to make, I used the suggestions provided, and added 1/3 cup of sugar. I thought this beer bread was okay, in comparison to another recipe I have made in the past.

I give this recipe a 5 because it is simple, easy to make, versatile, and I would do not have to modify this recipe, unless I want to add my own flair.

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
Great traditional recipe. I give this recipe a 4 and not a 5 as it does not seem to exceed any deviled egg I have ever eaten, even though these are still great deviled eggs to eat..

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
The recipe was very easy to make. The taste was O.K. I personally would not serve this to guests in my home, as this seems to casual/informal. I rate this as a family style meal. Based off of the many recipes I have made from this website I can not say that this was the best recipe that I have tried, therefore I can not give it a 5.
