Orzo with Tomatoes, Basil, and Gorgonzola

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2014
I thought it was fantastic and so did my dinner guests! I can see that this is an incredibly versatile recipe-- next time I'll change it up a bit but I liked it just as is... and it used up a few ingredients I've had in my pantry for awhile.

It was great... I doubled the recipe and served for a baby shower brunch. The serving dish was wiped clean!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
I made a double batch because I had a LOT of zucchini to use up. The recipe was good but I could have added twice as much zucchini to really see it and taste it!

Yum! My Southern friends don't use sugar in their cornbread but this recipe is the "Northern" style cornbread I remember!

The only reason to go to that "Famous Restaurant" is to get these biscuits and now I don't have to! They are wonderful!

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2007
Really good! I have heard of this "salad" before but have never made it. I made it for a get-together with friends and no one had ever heard of it before but they loved it! It quickly disappeared!

Sweet Corn Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2007
I came accross this recipe when I was looking for a side dish for a mexican meal. I have always been a firm believer in the theory that every meal should have a protein, a vegetable and a starch, but try doing that with a Mexican-themed party! This recipe was perfect but I found that here in the South, they call this dish corn puddin'. That's right, no G! I double the recipe and bake it in a 13X9 pan. It is fantastic! I make it every time I attend a Mexican-themed party and it is always a huge hit! I get plenty of requests for the recipe.

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2007
My mother-in-law has a gluten allergy and this is the only time she will eat anything containing flour! She says it is worth the inevitable reaction. We have an orange tree in the backyard and Sometimes I will add some grated orange peel and a smal amount of the orange juice for a different twist!

I made these for a bake sale at work and so many people were thrilled with a vegan option. They were a huge success.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
The additional water is completely unnecessary! The finished product was beautiful but when we served it, it was a bit watery! Next time, I will let the natural juice stand on its own. The "crisp" is yummy though!

Seven Layer Taco Dip

I left out the olives (because I hate them!) and the tomatoes (because my friends hate them!) and the recipe turned out great! I did substitute guacamole before the lettuce to keep the "seven" layers!

Simply Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2007
Good recipe. However, I recommend pounding the chicken thinly and serving over a bed of baby greens tossed in caesar dressing. Hmmm.... that sounds good! Maybe I should post that as a new recipe!
