It's only been one day since my big resolution to slow down... I've already turned down THREE cakes!  It wasn't that difficult since my doctor told me that I am sick due to running myself ragged.... I have acute laryngitis and pharyngitis and I'm on total voice rest for the next three days.… MORE

I signed up for a blog probably close to a year ago but have never used it... not sure why, but I would bet it has something to do with how little time I have!  You see, I am a cooking/baking martyr... that's right, we exist!  Having a bake sale?  Sure, put me down for 12 dozen cupcakes, 6… MORE

About Me
I can remember cooking from a very early age... I was always fascinated by recipe books and the mysteries they contained! My mom started working when I was five so it was nothing for me to cook dinner by myself by the time I was 10. I didn't realize it would make a million onion rings!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook for my extended family-- it is not unusual for me to cook for 6-12 people 3 or 4 nights a week... my husband and I don't have kids yet, but we joke that we have a revolving front door! I enjoy cooking everything! I am always willing to try a new recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As a child, I have fond memories of my sister and I sitting at the kitchen table, surrounded by bowls of colored icing, sugars and sprinkles as my mom baked tray after tray of sugar cookies for us to decorate. My cooking tragedies
Every cook, good and bad, has mishaps! I think the sign of a good cook is one who can turn a mishap into a happy accident! I once hand carried 6 cake layers on a plane, flew 3000 miles, only to have the cake disintegrate as I tried to assemble it. I managed to pull it off but there were some tense minutes...
