After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
I am giving this recipe 5 stars simply for the idea alone! I make chicken stock all of the time out of the carcasses from the rotiseirrie chickens that I buy from the store. I made the turkey stock yesterday and today I started the soup with the Cream Soup Base Recipe found on this website. I also added some leftover gravy as opposed to the bouillon granules. I also added garlic granules for some flavor, although my family seem to think it was missing something probably the salt! I don't use a lot of it. I thought it had great flavor just from the stock and the gravy. I also used brown long grain rice, which was great! Thank you for this wonderful idea. I have been discarding turkey carcasses for over 15 years and I am so sorry that I have!

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
I used my leftover Thanksgiving turkey in this recipe and it was fabulous! The only changes I made were to use corn tortillas and I added extra cheese because my family loves the cheese. I like the less spicy version, but this can easily be kicked up a notch by adding hot sauce or red pepper flakes. Delicious. Thank you for a great recipe for my leftovers!

The Best Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
This is wonderful garlic bread as is. However, I used mayo with olive oil for a healthier option, as well as chopped garlic rather than the powder and it was just as good. I make my garlic bread this way all of the time!

5 stars from me! This was such an easy and tasty recipe. I used orange extract since I did not have any almond. Super recipe that you can easily use with blueberries too! I doubled the recipe and cooked it in a 9X13 pan and there were 2 pieces left after the end of the night! I would say that my family enjoyed it :)

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

This was fabulous! I didn't switch it up much other than using leftover turkey from our Thanksgiving dinner and I also added homemade chicken broth so that it wasn't so thick. I did saute the onions, green pepper, and some garlic in the pot before adding the remaining ingredients. My husband said I can make this as much as I want to! I guess that means that he enjoyed it. Thanks for the great recipe.

Easy Mexican Casserole

This one is a definite keeper! My daughter's friend even LOVED it. I used Doritos crushed on the bottom because I didn't have any tortilla chips. It tasted great! Plus I always save the crumbs from the bottom of the chip bags to use for recipes just like these. I also used a corn and black bean salsa and added a little more corn to the meat mixture. It gave it more color! I will definitely be making this regularly. Thanks for the great recipe.

This recipe is wonderful! The only change that I made was to use a truffle oil rather than the canola. It gave it a beautiful flavor. I have been making this soup for years!

Great recipe to use for a jump start! I cut back just a bit on the garlic and added some ricotta cheese. So yummy. I also cut back on the red pepper flakes, a little goes a long way with that spice!

Home Made Top Tarts!

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
So easy and such a great treat. I simply used a can of white frosting and melted it in the microwave and poured it over the "pop tart." Add any sprinkles you have on hand, and I happened to have spring ones, which were really cute! I can see making individual ones as a special birthday treat at a party. Thanks for the recipe.

Cake Balls

These are the best and simplest dessert! For those of you having such a difficult time with the dipping. I always save my wire egg dippers from Easter. Simply modify the size of the dipper and it makes it a breeze to dip these!

My family absolutely loves these....No cream cheese though! They really don't need it. I make them just as is and serve them on a bed of lettuce. This helps to keep them upright. They can be time consuming, but I use a melon baller to fill the tomatoes with and they go fairly quickly.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

This recipe is delicious! I have been making it this way for probably 10 years or so. I originally found the recipe on the inside of a PHilly Cream Cheese container. Very good and easy to make. Sub low fat cream cheese and it is just as good.

Creme Brulee II

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Very delicious. The first time, I followed directions exactly. The second time rather than using vanilla extract, I chose to use 1/2 tsp. vanilla bean. OMG! What a difference. It tasted just like a creme brulee that I enjoy at our favorite restaurant. Try the vanilla bean. You won't be disappointed!

Flank Steak with Garlic Wine Sauce

this was delicious.....I didn't have any green onions, so I used a vidalia onion! It was fantastic. The only thing I did differently besides the onion was to add some browning sauce to help with the color of the sauce. Will definitely make this again, only using more garlic!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Really great, sweet cheese ball! Just a note for those having trouble getting it to form into a ball. I always line a small bowl with plastic wrap and put the mixture into the bowl. Chill a couple of hours and voila! You can use the plastic wrap to finish the ball and roll into the pecan mixture! Soooo easy!

Ice Cream Kolacky

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
I was reading all of the bad reviews. This is a polish cookie! There is not a lot of flavor to the dough so that the flavor of whatever preserve you use. I also add at least 2 tbl. of sugar to my dough. You also have to sprinkle them with powdered sugar, and a heavy duty mixer is a must! We have been eating these kolacky since I can remember and the whole family loves them. They are a tradition in our house! I can't believe that this recipe is on here! We have been making this recipe for at least 40 years, as someone else had mentioned. Except our recipe was from a clipping in the newspaper. This is the BEST kolacky recipe ever. The dough is so flaky and my family absolutely loves them. Don't let the ice cream scare you off, you only have to let it soften, not melt! A really easy recipe!
