My favorite things to cook
Give me any recipe! I love to cook:) I love to play with recipes, tweak them, change them to make them my own. And I haven't had any complaints from anyone I've had over for dinner. I love Sandra Lee, Rachel Ray, and Giada DeLaurentis. I love Paula Deen, but rarely use her recipes without adjusting them to make them healthy. (I can't believe she hasn't had a major coronary episode yet)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I hate to say it, but as good as Southern cooking tastes and smells, its so unhealthy, that I have broken my "family cooking traditions" by NOT using a stick of butter in everything I cook, or a cup of bacon grease, and I can honestly say I've never even bought a can of Crisco! YUCK! I care too much about me and my family's health. I use a lot of seasonings, herbs, chopped veggies to season my dishes. I never ever deep-fry anything.
My cooking triumphs
I don't have any "triumphs". Just proud of myself and how I've learned to cook healthy. I put a lot of love in my dishes, and it shows. I love to have people over for dinner, and hear the compliments. It makes me very happy.

Easy Peach Cobbler
VARIATION: My daughter suggested we try this with chocolate cake mix and canned cherry pie filling - we did and it came out delicious!

Strawberry Pretzel Salad
I have always loved this dessert... but this time I used a graham cracker crust and instead of jello, I used two cans of cherry pie filling on top of the cream cheese/whipped topping mixture. Tasted more like a cheesecake... YUMMY:P
