I am a student at the University of Florida; studying Event Management consumes most of my day time. At night I am a completely different person. I am not learning from someone else... I am experimenting and teaching myself how to become a better cook. I love to cook for my male friends, they are always eager to eat whatever I make no matter how it turns out. Awful meals are not really an issue but sometimes I get a little carried away with my spices-especially garlic and onion. I enjoy thoughtful critique although most are hesitant to give it because I do put so much effort into my cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and I love to cook anything for others.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad is phenomenal on the grill and I have tried to convince him to join this website. (I think he feels it is a little emasculating. Oh well, his loss.) My mom make terrific spaghetti and the worlds best fruit cake. In fact- it is the only fruit cake I will eat and not pretend to enjoy. My grandmother never glances at a recipe and turns the simplest ingredients into mouthwatering southern traditions.
My cooking triumphs
I am now in charge of holiday feasts provided I have not had to much wine the night before. I have also started getting requests for my own original takes on past recipes.
My cooking tragedies
Garlic bread... I always burn it. I blame this on my tragic excuse for an oven. Ah, the college life.
