About this Cook
Married, no kids, older, love 10-pin, 8-ball and (unfortunately) pogo. Love Allrecipes.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, slow cooker meals, dishes that freeze well, great meals for two, low carb dishes. Manicotti Sauce (microwave or slow cooker) is always a hit, or Curried Rice.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making traditional French Canadian dishes at Christmas and Easter. Using new recipes (usually untested) at other holiday celebrations and letting my guests rate the recipes.
My cooking triumphs
I knew I was doing alright when I heard from my husband that his co-workers were asking what he was having for dinner each night and could they have doggie bags!!
My cooking tragedies
I made a pot of chile with the usual amount of chile powder only to find when I served it to my husband the chile powder was extra hot! I had to add quadruple all other ingredients to make the chile palatable! hahaha I do need help with a Cranberry Bar recipe I have.

Bourbon Pecan Chicken
lovely recipe. I used Ghee, which is clarified butter in a jar and available in most grocery stores. Just ask your grocer.

Tomato and Avocado Salad
Thank you very much for such a great way to serve avocado. Four and a half stars for this. I cut the avocado in half and placed it, cut side up, in the middle of the circle of tomato slices, drizzled Kraft Zesty Italian dressing lightly over all and ground fresh black pepper over all to taste. My husband doesn't care for avocado; however, he liked this combination very much. I served with both a fork and spoon.

World's Best Lasagna
Very good. I decided to make the sauce in the microwave by covering and cooking the meats, onion and garlic on high for 5 minutes (700 watt microwave), stir, cook another 5-7 minutes or til meat is cooked and no longer pink; drain. Next I added all other sauce ingredients and microwaved on high until boiling, 10 - 15 minutes. From there I followed the directions until the part about baking. I covered the casserole dish and cooked in the microwave on 70% power for 15 to 20 minutes (or cook until hot in centre, microwaves vary). I sometimes make the sauce by itself or double it for freezing. Wonderful recipe, thanks. Oh yes, do not omit the fennel seed if you can help it.
