Definitely a great "starting point" for a turkey chili recipe. I would have given it 4.5 stars since I had to make some adjustments based on other reviews, but I rounded up to 5 since overall I'll certainly make this again. I sauteed the onion with diced green pepper until the onion was translucent in canola oil, then added 2 (you could add more!) cloves of minced garlic until it turned golden and THEN added the turkey. Once it was browned I added one can of black beans along with one can of kidney, did not mash either of them, one small can of mild green chilies, the crushed tomatoes, ONE cup instead of two cups of water, and all the remaining spices minus the cayenne pepper because my toddler was going to have some. So good, and I think it was even better the next day.
