Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

This recipe was FLAWLESSly delicious. I followed the recipe very closely with a few changes. Note 1: Cream of Tartar leaves a very disgusting after-taste. My advice is to not use it. At all. In fact, throw it out if you are only using it for cookies. Substitute 1 tsp cream of tartar ALWAYS with 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice. Note 2: If you don't want hard cookies, change the baking temperature to 375ยบ. And bake for 7:50-8:10 minutes depending on the size of your ball of cookie. Mine were approximately 1.7 inches in diameter. Note 3: Hand beat. Looks better! Also, instead of using just plain white sugar for the coating, try a little mix of brown sugar and cane sugar. The aroma and taste is much more interesting.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

The cookies came out great. I made heart and flower shaped ones with cookie cutters. And I must say, they really are great for making shapes. The appearance and scent is really heavenly. However, the taste was very questionable. I used the freshest ingredients and still it did not taste as great as I had expected it to. Also, the amount of butter being used is rather ridiculous. After consuming three or four I felt like I had a chunk of butter in my stomach--it was heavy and unpleasant. They're decent, but I won't make them again.

French Silk Frosting

I followed the recipe exactly, and it did indeed turn out really good. Its silky and its absolutely delicious. However, if you chew the frosting a bit you'll notice the grains of confectioner's sugar, which was a bit unpleasant. Otherwise, it is perfect for cakes/cupcakes. Its silky enough to be absolutely smooth and stiff enough to make pipe designs.

Pineapple Orange Sorbet

This was a very good recipe. I tried it and was very happy with the result on trial 1. Although, I think the orange juice was much too strong. I will definately reduce it to maybe 3/4 of a cup on my second attempt.
