About this Cook
I've been cooking since I could reach the stove. After school I would race home to watch Juila Child rather then cartoons. Cooking is one of my passions. I'm a young mother and love cooking for my family. I spend hours a day looking up recipes and watching the Food Network!
My favorite things to cook
Italin, Mexican, Southern dishes are what I am best at and what my husband and I enjoy the most.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Blackeyed peas. Not many people like these little beans, but I love finding new ways to cook them for New Years Day. My uncle and I would always make homemade pies ofr Thanksgiving and Christmas...I miss that. I cooked with him since I was little and learned so much from him. I now am trying to get my son to enjoy the joy of cooking. He's 5. And as soon as my daughter is old enough (she's 2 months old) I will drag her into the kitchen as well. =)
My cooking triumphs
I think I have mastered lasagna. I do them different almost every time, but I think mine is better then any you get at any resturant....or ones I have been to so far.
My cooking tragedies
I burn cookies a LOT! I don't know what it is about cookies, but they are either underdone or burnt! LOL I don't enjoy baking cookies that's for sure.

Chile Verde II
I loved this.I like how easy it was even in a crockpot.next time I will do it with a homemade verde sauce verse jarred. I put mine on corn tortillas with fresh cilantro, queso fresco and lime juice. Was so so good! Using leftovers for chimichangas.Well done!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
This was good. My husband does not like fish. I made this recipe and then I made a salmon. He said the salmon was too "fishy" but said this recipe he could eat and he does not like fish. I added 1/4 cup crushed butter crackers to the topping. I think you could have gone a bit less on the cheese. Other then that it was great. Everyone liked it, my 11 year old brother went back for seconds...and thirds before bed time!!

Raspberry Trifle
I made this for my mom's early Mother's Day dinner. It was excellent. My husband said it was "Resturant quality." I forgot to get two bags of raspberries and used some fresh sliced strawberries with one bag of raspberries and it turned out good. I finished the last bit of it last night. WILL be making this again!
