About this Cook
I love traveling! I have been all over Western Europe(Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Amsterdam, London, and Milan) and to Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia. My dream vacation right now is to take a two week trip to Hawaii or to the Caribbean ! I own my own business and plan in the next two years to open a cafe in the style similar to those in Serbia- a "cafe bar" with cakes, pizza, coffees, teas, and a full bar. The atmosphere is so relaxed and social, and I want to be able to introduce that into Chicago.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking and coming up with unique, tasty and beautiful desserts. I like to use unconventional ingredients (such as nectarines with mint, curries with blueberries, and tomatoes and avocados in cake) and share my new creations with my team in the office!
My favorite family cooking traditions
In the fall my mom and my sister and I always make applesauce, zucchini, date, and pumpkin breads for ourselves and for our friends. My favorite part is going to Goebert's pumpkin farm to buy all the apples.
My cooking triumphs
When I started experimenting with curries, I found out that I am really good at creating dishes similar to what I have eaten in Indian and Thai restaurants by my house! Also, my boyfriend does a work out program called p90x, and can only eat certain foods and very specific amounts, so when I can make something that fits those requirements and still tastes great, he is a very happy man :)
My cooking tragedies
I have definitely burned a few things before, and had plenty of messes and fires in the microwave... ha, ha.

Orange Raisin Muffins
Incredible ! I just pulled them out of the oven and I'm having on right now... absolutely perfect consistency/texture. I made some changes ONLY because I didn't have any oranges, just orange juice, and I only had a TBSP of sugar left... so I added dates, cranberries, golden raisins. Instead of sugar, about 2 TBSP honey, and only 1 TBSP sugar, a little vanilla & almond extract (I never measure sorry :/) and maybe 2 tbsp extra orange juice. Topped them with cranberries or granola made from 1/4 c quick cook oats, 1tbsp brown sugar, 1tbsp butter, & dash of orange juice. SO GOOD!!! I will definitely be using this as a base recipe for future muffins, THANKS! :):):)

Blonde Brownies I
These were FANTASTIC! Great brownie consistency, taste great hot and after being in the fridge. I used chopped pecans, instead of walnuts, and no chocolate. Brought them to my office and they were gone in literally 4 minutes.
