It was a wonderful cookie, and I'm giving it 5 stars because it was very easy to substitute ingredients and STILL come out yummy.
I used chopped heath bars instead of chocolate chips or shaved chocolate, just because that was what I had on hand and I didn't want to run to the store.
I also substituted the all-purpose flour for my own mixture of whole wheat and unbleached flour and some of the oats for oat bran. (because I'm a nutball who can't resist adding a healthy touch to even something as simple as cookies)
I ALSO subbed the white sugar for splenda (so my hypoglycemic husband could at least have ONE cookie)
My son wanted to make cookies and I'm always looking for a cookie that will taste good, have low sugar (this one doesn't) and will be at least somewhat healthy. I think this one was able to accomidate 2 of the three, and since it isn't intended to be low-sugar, I still give it 5 stars. YUM
