Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2008
I don't know why this didn't taste great to me. I did make the recipe just the way it was written except I used white wine vinegar instead of red, since I was out of red. I used fresh shrimp and indoor grill. Do you think the vinegar would make that much of a difference?

I made this as written except I used an assortment of left over savory crackers. Very good.

Great recipe. I must say I don't get it when folks say a candy is too sweet. IT'S CANDY!!! I'm getting my homemade Christmas candy tray ready...now on to the caramels! Thanks for sharing this recipe. P.S. I did add an extra 1/2 cup of peanut butter.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
Very good basic cream pie recipe. I doubled it and made a coconut cream pie (see Coconut Cream Pie IV) also. I made it with meringue. I don't think using flour or cornstarch makes much of a difference. I used half flour/cornstarch. The most important thing is to use whole milk not low fat. What is not to like!!!

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
One reason I wanted to make this cake was because it calls for a lot of bananas. So many recipes only call for 1 cup. Easy, moist and tasty. I added 1 tsp. of cinnamon and topped with cinnamon cream cheese frosting (cinnamon added to the frosting) and toasted walnuts. It was a hit. Yum.

Brown Sugar Cut-Out Cookies and Icing

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
Instead of milk I added 1 cup sour cream. I also increased the vanilla to 1 Tbls. instead of 1 tsp. I added cinnamon to the roll out flour. I did not have to chill at all. these rolled out great.

Chocolate Fudge Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
I make these when I want to wow the chocolate lovers at work. When you top them with fudge frosting the go like hotcakes. Don't overbake as stated. I also roast the pecans before I put them in the batter. That is a good way to get added flavor in any recipe using nuts.

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
These are easy to make. I doubled the recipe with no problem. You could add walnuts to the batter or to the topping, but it doesn't need them. I took them to work and everyone loved them.
