Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
EXCEPIONAL RECIPE!!! You don't need to go to the Olive Garden anymore to get good pasta fagioli!!!! LOVED THIS RECIPE. I did add two cans of chicken broth to it to stretch it and thin it out a little. I also shredded two fresh carrots. I did use one can of stewed tomatoes in place of two fresh tomatoes because I didn't have any fresh. Also, I did cook the pasta separate since I don't like to cook the pasta in what I am making ever. I also drained the beans first and rinsed them because I was afraid to add the liquid. It was the BEST FAGIOLI we have ever made and I think is even better than the Olive Garden. You won't be disappointed in this recipe!!!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT WITH THE WORLD!!!!!

ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. I DID ADD ABOUT 1/4 CUP OF SALSA TO THE BEAN/BEEF MIXTURE AND DID PUT PICANTE SAUCE ON THE TOP TORTILLA SHELL(OR YOU COULD USE A COUPLE TABLESPOONS OF SALSA IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE THIS) UNDER THE CHEESE. BETTER THAN TACO BELL, REALLY GREAT FILILNG DINNER!!! DEFINITELY WILL MAKE AGAIN. THANKS FOR SHARING!!

Breakfast Burritos

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
INCREDIBLE TOGETHER. PLEASANT SURPRISE. I DID NOT USE ANY BACON --TRYING TO CUT BACK ON FAT/CALORIES. JUST OPENED THE FAT FREE REFRIED BEANS AND ADDED DROP OF OLIVE OIL AND SAUTEED THEM/ADDED BEANS TO THIS WITH SPRINKLE OF CHILIPOWER/CAYENNE PEPPER AND HEATED WELL. HEATED TORTILLA IN MICROWAVE WITH MEX CHEESE AND SPREAD BEANS ON TORTILLA AND ADDED SCRAMBLED EGG BEATERS--REALLY GOOD AND FULL OF PROTEIN AND LOWER FAT. VERY FILLING AND SATISFYING. GREAT TREAT!!! THANKS FOR THE RECIPE.

Old World Poppy Seed Roll

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2013
This was just incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I saw it was a yeast dough, I had second thoughts but it was so easy to put together and the dough came out perfect and trust me I am not any kind of dough expert. I used canned poppy seed filling and used a butter knife to spread it all over the inside to just about 1" from the edge and it came out so good baked just as the recipe said. This is definitely a KEEPER. THANK YOU for sharing it with the world!!!!! Right up there for holiday traditional sweetbread for us!!!!!!

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
lAt first, I was afraid to try this because I love my old "bread crumb" meatloaf, but this was absolutely perfect and will become our "fave meatloaf recipe" now. Just could not believe how good it was I bought the quinoa for the first time organic and then read somewhere on line that you need to soak it and rinse it because there is a coating on it that can be bitter tasting and also have a laxative effect, so trust me we soaked the quinoa first for a couple hours and then rinsed it over and over before cooking it. Turned out perfect. INCREDIBLE RECIPE!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS!!!!! LOVE Allrecipes and since retiring this is my favorite internet site!!!

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
BY FAR THE VERY BEST AND EASIEST BREAD I EVER TRIED TO MAKE. EVEN THOUGH I COOK ALL THE TIME, HESITATE WITH BREAD MAKING BECAUSE IT NEVER TURNS OUT RIGHT, BUT THIS WAS FOOLPROOF. AFTER READING MANY OF THE REVIEWS, I TOO DECIDED TO USE THE BREAD MACHINE ONLY FOR THE DOUGH CYCLE AND THEN PUT IT IN A GREASED BREAD PAN AND LET IT RISE IN AN OVEN WHICH HAD BEEN PRE-WARMED TO 200 DEGREES. I COVERED IT WITH A DISH TOWEL AND AS SOON AS IT ROSE, I BAKED IT ABOUT 30 MIN. AT 350 DEGREES. IT WAS JUST THE VERY BEST BREAD---EVEN PRETTY AND VERY TASTY. I ALSO MADE A SECOND LOAF AS ANOTHER REVIEWER SUGGESTED WITH CINNAMON/BROWN SUGAR AND RAISINS WHICH WAS EQUALLY GOOD. THANKS FOR A GREAT FOOLPROOF RECIPE!!!!! DON'T BE AFRAID TO PUT THE YEAST IN THE LIQUID EVEN THOUGH YOUR BREAD MACHINE ADVISES AGAINST IT. IF ALL THEIR RECIPES WERE SO GREAT, WHY DO I SEE BREAD MACHINES AT EVERY GARAGE SALE I GO TO??? I DO THINK THAT BAKING IT IN THE OVEN OFFERED A MORE UNIFORM, CONSISTENT SIZED BREAD AND DON'T THINK I WILL EVER LET IT BAKE IN THE BREAD MACHINE. IT WAS JUST TOO PRETTY COMING OUT OF THE OVEN THIS WAY.

Tuna Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
I made this with cubed chicken and also doubled the milk to two cups in the same amt. of flour/butter and used low fat cheese in it and it was delicious. I did add a few drops of Louisana Hot Sauce to the cheese mixture just to have it have a little "kick" to it. It was just delicious and will never use creamed mushroom soup again in this type of recipe. THANKS for sharing this with us. Loved it.

JUST SUPERB AND EXACTLY WHY I LOVE ITALIAN COOKIES BETTER!! (AND I AM UKRANIAN BUT VERY PARTIAL TO THESE ITALIAN BEAUTIES. IT IS A GREAT DESSERT BUT NOT SO SWEET IT IS SICKENING AND YOU WISH YOU NEVER ATE IT. I DID DIP THEM IN CONFECTIONARY SUGAR WITH ORANGE JUICE ONLY IN IT TO MAKE IT WATERY RIGHT OUT OF THE OVEN AND THEN SPRINKLED THEM WITH EITHER COLORED SUGAR OR CRUSHED WALNUTS WHICH WERE REALLY GOOD TOO!! GREAT TO HAVE WITH TEA/COFFEE AFTER A MEAL AND NOT FEEL LIKE YOU ATE TOO MUCH!!!! UNDERSTATED BEAUTY!!!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
Excellent banana muffins. I too used oil instead of butter and added nutmeg/cinamon as others suggested to the dry ingredients and they were absolutely incredible. I don't always have luck with banana bread -- often remaining uncooked in the middle or too dry so this was a joy to make and have the middle cooked and taste so good. LOVE THIS SITE for the very BEST of EVERYTHING!!! Definitely a KEEPER!!!

Apple Fritters I

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2013
Unbelievably DELICIOUS. I halved the recipe since there are just two of us and it turned out perfect. I did cube up my apples and put them in microwave for 2-3 minutes to precook them a little as one other person suggested and that made it great. I just stirred the apples into the batter which came out great. Have a deep fryer, but just put them in frypan with the bottom covered with canola oil and flipped them over like pancakes. SUPERB RECIPE!!!!

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
JUST SUPERB!!!! WAS NOT SURE HOW HONEY WOULD TASTE ON POTATOES AND IT SEEMED LIKE WE MIGHT NOT LIKE THEM, BUT WITH THE GREAT REVIEWS THOUGHT IT WAS WORTH A TRY. SO GLAD WE TRIED THEM. I ALSO USED CAYENNE PEPPER IN PLACE OF THE DRY MUSTARD(AS ANOTHER REVIEWER SUGGESTED) BUT ONLY TRIED 1/2 TEASPOON JUST TO GIVE THEM A LITTLE BITE!! I THINK THEY ARE EVEN BETTER IF YOU LET THEM SIT A FEW MINUTES AFTER BAKING TO THICKEN UP THE SAUCE AS MINE DID. THEY ARE SO GOOD AND MY FAVORITE NEW WAY TO MAKE POTATOES. LOVED THEM. MIGHT USE THEM WITH EASTER HAM JUST FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND TO ADD A LITTLE BIT OF SPICE FOR DINNER. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS RECIPE!!!!!

Bagels I

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
I just can't believe how well these bagels turned out. They were so easy using the bread machine to do all the work and then just taking out the dough and making my bagels. It was a quickie boil in the pan and then added sesame seeds to some and cinamon sugar to the rest. They were just incredible. Can't wait to try variations with basic recipe. Just loved them. Totally pleased with the ease of making them using bread machine-- couldn't be easier and the results were incredible. THANKS for sharing these Sally!!!!

Chili Seasoning Mix II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2013
Made this quickly in a pinch MINUS the flour and it was delicious in my chili. I only used two full tablespoons of it in my chili and it just was soooo good--perfect combination of spices minus the flour. I was not making gravy so I left out four and never missed it. The rest was superb. Will NEVER buy packaged chili seasoning again!!!! GREAT recipe.

Rice and Lentil Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
Used HOT chicken sausage and cubanelle peppers diced with some green chilis and it was absolutely THE BEST !!!!! Also doubled the lentils and brown rice which necessitated a little more broth, but at least that way had another meal out of it. We put salsa on top of it and it was really great. THANKS for a superb healthy recipe!!!

Hot 'n' Spicy Spareribs

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
ABSOLUTELY THE VERY BEST RUB EVER!!!!!!! WE DOUBLED THE RUB AND RUBBED OUR 4 POUNDS OF SPARERIBS (ST. LOUIS SPARERIBS) AND LET IT SIT OVERNIGHT IN THE REFRIGERATOR IN FOIL AND THE NEXT DAY PUT THE FOIL PACKAGES IN THE OVEN AT 250 FOR 2 HOURS AND THEN RAISED THE TEMP TO 350 FOR ONE HOUR. WE UNCOVERED THEM ONLY IN THE LAST 20 MINUTES AND PUT BARBEQUE SAUCE ON THEM AND THEN TURNED UP THE OVEN TO 375 FOR 20 MINUTES. THEY WERE BEST EVER!!!! WE LOVED THEM. THE MEAT WAS SO TENDER AND MELTED IN YOUR MOTH. THE RUB IS A LITTLE ON THE SPICY SIDE WHICH WAS RIGHT UP OUR ALLEY. GREAT RECIPE!!! CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT ON SOME GUESTS NEXT TIME. SUPERB!!! A+ RECIPE. THANK YOU
