Home Made Top Tarts!

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
I will never buy pop tarts again!! very easy, filled mine with raspberry jam, nutella, and apple butter which I added some diced apples to...soooo good thank you so much for sharing....***as for the glaze I used a fork to drizzle a little on, it really doesn't need to be caked on, in this case a little bit goes along way. Next time I will just melt some vanilla frosting in the microwave to drizzle.. thank you so much

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
Love the bread! Thank you for sharing. I didn't have enough pumpkin, so I added 2 bananas, kids said it was the best ever. Also, I added crushed left over ginger snap cookies ( the really hard ones, that kids don't like) it increased the flavor with a crunchy topping, I will use again

Conchas (Mexican Sweet Bread)

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
I thought that this was pretty easy and love the buttery taste of the topping. The recipe calls for 4 cups of flour, but I only used 3 cups. I did let it rest for 10 minutes before rolling into balls. After reading reviews I decided to use 3 teaspoons of yeast and for those of you who don't know how to measure 3/8 cup of sugar, I googled it and it said use 1/2 cup minus 2 tablespoons. I did take the advice from a review that said to heat the milk, which I did for about 20 seconds. Please watchful of the time!! I did 15 minutes and it was starting to over cook I think 12-13 mins will work. It was cooked all the way threw also. Will make again thank you for sharing

Veggie and Cilantro Hummus Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
Hummus was the only thing that I made, I didn't mean to revamp the recipe, but the main ingredient is so expensive at 8.00 a jar, so I used already made garlic hummus. I added it to the food processor along with 1 full bunch of cilantro and about 1/4 teaspoon chipole powder and 1/2 teaspoon onion powder and a pinch of salt and mixed. It was so simple and tasted just like Panera's . My son loves it, saids it taste better!

English Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
Wow, these came out really nice and fluffy. I followed the recipe. I have a griddle that does not have the low, medium, or high setting but a temp, so I set it for 325 degrees, if you cook at a higher temp within 3 minutes it will start to burn. I cut mine a little bigger and thicker so that I could use them for sausage and egg breakfast sandwitches. I did have to cook them alittle longer total of 15 minutes on each side. Since mine are thicker the muffin itself tasted almost like a bagel. Also what I found is if you want the nooks and grannies do not slice it cut alittle than pull apart, this helps with look you are trying to achieve. Love it and so did the kids will use again and again thank you so much for sharing

Cheese-Filled Coffee Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
Followed the recipe as written and was wonderful, will keep making. I would suggest checking at 15 minutes, bottom was perfectly browned at 15 mins, I added 5 more minutes for a total of 20 minutes ( the recipe saids 20-25 minutes, which is why I added the extra 5 minutes) and was to browned on the bottom, not burnt, but close.
