Creamy White Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2007
A nice change, I served it over chicken. Watch the quality of your white wine -- it really makes a difference.

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

These are moist and delicious -- a perfect muffin recipe. I always keep shredded carrots in my freezer so this makes it much easier.

Fragrant Chicken Curry

Reviewed: May 31, 2007
My family really liked this recipe as a change. I followed one reviewers suggestion of dicing the chicken, dredging it with flour, then browning, and deglazing the pan. It came out beautifully. I struggled with knowing what side dish to use, but next time I'll make it with a baked pineapple casserole as a side dish.

Bill's Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: May 27, 2007
This was excellent. While browning the sausage, I mixed the flour and about 1 cup of the milk in a shaker. Then when the sausage was fully browned I added it to the pan with the sausage and drippings along with the remainder of the milk. This made it easier than trying to remove the sausage and whisk in the flour and milk. Great dish! I will definitely make this again.

Beef Tips

Reviewed: May 19, 2007
I'm giving this recipe 5 stars for ease a preparation and taste. This makes a wonderful family night supper. I omitted the oil to save fat calories. I did not add any water, but added about 1 cup of beer. At the end of the cooking time, I added about 3 tablespoons of arrowroot (healthier than cornstarch) shaken vigorously with 1/4 cup of water, to the beef tips and allowed to simmer until thickened. We served this over rice.

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
I am very happy with this Ranch Dressing recipe use the dressing on a daily basis. It lends itself well to slight alterations like using plain yogurt instead of sour cream. I also add some milk to thin it a bit to make it more pourable.

Cheese Quesadillas

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
Boy these are quick and easy! I brushed melted butter on the outsides of the tortillas and then put them under the broiler. Keep your eyes on them because they're done in a flash! I served these for supper with taco salad.

This is a good family dinner. The cheddar coating gets crispy, it's easy to prepare, and it's even good warmed up later.

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
Fantastic! My husband, who doesn't even like coconut could not stop eating them. I also made the orange marmalade dipping sauce and everyone loved it too. My suggestions: use larger shrimp (I used medium and it was way too labor intensive), add a little salt, and add a little sugar if your coconut is not presweetened.

This recipe is excellent. The flavor combinations are delicious. The raisins, sunflower seeds, and cheese make this dish a winner.

Mammaw's Waffles

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2006
Very good, crispy waffles. I used freshly ground soft wheat flour and sucanat to sweeten. The waffles came out light and fluffy. I added 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla.

Beef-Stuffed Squash

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
My family voted that this recipe is a keeper. Since the ground beef is baked in the squash, make sure you get very lean meat. I made the recipe just as described and would not alter anything. It was delicious, easy to prepare, and looked very impressive--pretty enough for company.

Russian Tea

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
This is the age old recipe I grew up with. It is a staple at our house, especially around cold and flu season as the cloves in the mixture, soothe sore throats. Instead of the 3 oz. package of lemondade, we just use the smaller .23 ounce sugarless lemonde mix.

Carrot Raisin Pilaf

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2006
This was a good change from just plain rice. My children don't like raisins so I tried using dried cranberries. I think the raisins would add a much needed sweetness because the cranberries were bit too tart. I also shredded the carrots instead of julienned strips.

German Pancake

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2006
This is a spectacular recipe, both in taste and appearance. It's quick and easy to put together and it tastes delicious. The buttermilk syrup tastes like warm caramel and is the perfect topping for this dish. I substituted freshly ground soft wheat flour to make it a bit healthier and sucanat for the sugar in the buttermilk syrup. This will become a regular in our house. The first portion was gobled up so quickly I had to make a second batch. Fortunately one syrup recipe was plenty for both batches, with enough left over to dip some sliced apples in.

Chocolate Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2006
This is a delicious chocolate sauce. I altered the recipe to make it healthier by substituting sucanat with honey for the white sugar. I also reduced the water to just 1 cup. This makes a decadent dark chocolate milk! My whole family rated this 5 stars! It is far superior to the grocery store brand.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
Wow! This bread is fantastic. I have made it for friends and every time I hear that this is the best banana bread they've ever had. I've been using a 100 year old family recipe, but no more. I first made it just like the recipe's instructions. Then I made it with freshly ground soft wheat flour and sucanat with honey. Even my white flour friends loved it with the whole grain flour. I love this recipe! Why eat the bananas when you can let them ripen and make this bread?!

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
This is an amazing vegetable soup. My family prefers this over all the others I have made. I added my own choice of vegetables: frozen, sliced carrots, minced onion, frozen green beans, frozen corn, and frozen diced hash brown potatoes. I used stew beef instead of the chuck roast, and I omitted the barley because my family doesn't like it. This recipe is going to be a staple in my house.

Chocolate Oil Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
This is a good basic chocolate cake. It's easy to put together with ingredients usually on hand. I frosted my cake with a jumbo Hershey's bar. I broke it into sections and placed evenly over the hot cake and allowed it to melt. Then I smoothed it over the entire cake.
