Scalloped Potatoes 'n' Franks

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I just made this for supper tonight and my family LOVED it! I left the skins on the potatoes and used cheddar cheese. We will definitely use this recipe again.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
This is fabulous! We can't get enough of it. It's a little work, but oh so worth it.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: May 20, 2008
This is a tasty and easy recipe to adapt. It's especially good to have on hand when you have left over mashed potatoes. We don't like mixed vegies, so I just substituted corn.

White Chocolate Gorp

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
I used this gorp as a shower appetizer. It really makes a lot! It was enjoyed by guests and the white chocolate was pretty. I thought it tasted good but not amazing. I think I'd like to try it with milk chocolate.

Fruit Dip II

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
This is delicious and so easy to prepare! I made a fruit salad and then served the fruit dip in a halved pineapple. I put the fruit in a cup and guests put a dollop of dip on the top.

Mocha Punch

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
This was delicious. I used a combination of vanilla and chocolate ice cream. Make sure you combine ingredients about 30 minutes ahead of serving so the ice cream has a chance to melt a little. Also, try not to use big scoops of ice cream. It makes it a little difficult to serve.

Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I have to agree with the other reviewers about the "sandy" texture of these cookies. They taste pretty good, but their delicate texture makes them very difficult to eat. They almost dissolve in your mouth -- not a texture for everyone.

Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
This dish was very tasty. I used chicken instead of turkey because it is what I had on hand. I also substituted chicken broth for the chicken boullion and water and substituted cream for the milk because I was serving company. This is a perfect comfort food, yet tasty enough for company.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
I made this tonigh for a family get together. We thought it was delicious. I used mandarin oranges and left off the sesame seeds and still found it to be a very tasty and easy salad to prepare. I served it as a side for turkey pot pie.

Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
This is delicious! I used a large 44 oz jar of spaghetti sauce and added about 3/4 of the jar. I could have used the whole jar if the pan would hold it. I also followed one reviewer's suggestion and used ricotta cheese. We will definitely make this again, and I might try a larger pan next time.

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
These are delicious, and I love that I can make a big batch. I bake a few and then freeze the rest by rolling them into balls and freezing on a cookie sheet. When they're frozen I put them in a big zipper bag. Then I can pull out the number I want to cook and bake them for a few minutes more. This will give me fresh, hot cookies anytime I want them.

Restaurant-Style Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
We love this soup! It is very much like one at Olive Garden. I serve this for dinner with cinammon toast for a warm, comforting meal.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
This recipe is part of our traditional holdiay meals. It is to die for! The salty flavors of the pretzel with the sweet jello and whipped cream are a perfect combination. I always make it exactly as described.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

We thought these were delicious. I made them with freshly ground soft wheat and sucanat. I also made them up a day ahead and kept them in the refrigerator overnight. We will definitely make these again.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
These were better after they sat for a day or two, as the spices mellowed together. They're very much like soft gingerbread men in taste.

Texas Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2007
3 stars for me, means pretty average. This dish is basic and good, but not great. If you need variety and something for a quick family meal, then give this a go. I added corn and shredded carrots for additional nutrition.

BBQ Chili Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2007
Good change from just plain chili. Each member of the family added their own touch: one wanted it without pasta but topped with chopped onions, one with beans and stewed tomatoes added and topped with sour cream, and one just as the recipe describes. This recipe is easy to tailor to individual tastes.
