About this Cook
I am easy going. I have a wonderful husband of 39 years who is the cook in the family. My daughters are grown. Ellyn is married and lives in Crawfordville, FL. Renee is engaged and lives in Beverly, MA. I enjoy being with family and friends. Food is always the center of our plans.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking. My daughter, Ellyn, introduced me to I have been baking brownies since I was a teenager. Now I use boxed mixes but add a 1/4 c of chocolate chips and 1/2 c of walnuts to all my brownies. It gives them the extra touch. My husband gave me the gift of Kitchenaid Mixer a few years ago. Baking is much simplier with this wonderful small appliance. I enjoy making cakes, cookies, pies etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am Jewish. I do make a great stuffed cabbage, chicken soup and mondelbrodt. My husband makes delicious tender and juicy brisket of beef.
My cooking triumphs
I did a fund raiser for our temple back in 1978. This was before computers. I was the editor of a cookbook. I had three people on my committee. We collected recipes from the congregation. We also had a chapter "Feasting with the Famous". We wrote to celebreties and whoever responded their recipes were in our cookbook. I sold ads to the local merchants, and this money paid for the printing of the books. We made a profit of $800. Many of us are still enjoying the recipes.
My cooking tragedies
When a recipe that you follow directions doesn't bake correctly, sometimes I believe the weather has something to do with it. Than you leave it in the oven, seeing that it is golden brown, but after tasting it, it is dry. This is the only thing I can think of right now.

Angel Food Cake III
This is extremely easy to make. I altered the recipe, and used Splenda instead of sugar. I also topped each slice with blueberries and syrup. Scrumptious!

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake
I added the applesauce as suggested. I needed to bake an additional 5 minutes. I used mini chocolate chips. Great taste, easy to make. Will definitely make again
