To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
WOW! I would give 10 stars if a could! I have made these twice now, once with blueberries and once with strawberries. They are great! I'm addicted! I did add vanilla as people suggested. And I cut the topping in half. Still plenty. And I also added an extra 1/4 t of baking powder just because the muffins not rising enough is usually my complaint with homemade muffins, so I was trying to alleviate that. Great recipe! Can't wait to make them again!

Eggnog Quick Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
I added pudding mix and a little more eggnog. It was good after being refrigerated, but nothing I would crave. It also took forever to bake.

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
Love it! I did as a few suggested, and added less cream and butter, otherwise, followed the recipe and loved it! I have already had a request for the recipe!

Orange Peel Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
I tried this recipe because it sounded so different. But unfortunately we didn't love it. Too cakey. Not orangey enough. And didn't seem to set up well enough without over baking. Sorry! Thanks for sharing!

Easy Honey Mustard Mozzarella Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
For us, this was just ok. The bacon did not crisp, I ended up taking it off and cooking it separate and crumbling on top. The sauce was very thin although that didn't bother me too much. I don't know the whole combo of flavors; honey, mustard, bacon, cheese; just didn't really thrill me. Thanks for sharing though, it was worth a shot.

French Toast Stars

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
Yum!! I love this recipe! My only issue was that the honey hardened a bit when I added the cold eggs, so next time I may let the eggs warm up a bit before adding them. But it was no big issue, I just made sure I did a good mixing job. Otherwise, no complaints! Very good!!

Cinnamon Ice Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
WOW! This was the first ice cream I made aside from the plain vanilla recipe that came with my ice cream maker. And it turned out great! I made this for my family at Thanksgiving and everyone raved! It will become the thing I bring each year, I am sure of it. The only thing I did different is that I used whole milk instead of half and half, simply because I forgot to buy it. I am sure it would be good the original way also.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
I know this recipe hardly needs another five start rating - but what the heck?!? I used oil in place of melted butter as others suggested, simply because my previous banana bread recipe used oil, and it seemed to work well for banana bread. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly, and it turned out great. I love the crumb topping and next time I will make more of it! My husband and 16 month old also enjoyed this recipe.

Caramel Slices

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2007
These cookies are a little crunchy on the edges, yet chewy. A nice mix for us. They are also nice because they are easy, use ingredients on hand, and don't have a lot of stuff in them (sometimes we need that around here for the kiddo!) My only "warning", and I use the term loosely, is that some people may find them too sweet. It depends on your preference. The caramel taste is subtle. Again, good for us, maybe not what someone else is looking for. Overall, we enjoyed them immensely. I would recommend cutting the recipe in half and giving them a try!

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
If you are trying to sneak more veggies into your family's diet, this may help! I don't care for zucchini, and I liked these. My 14 month old son loved them also. As suggested by others, I did add more seasoning - pepper, seasoned salt, italian seasoning. I also used 1/2 flour and 1/2 potato flakes. I didn't have enough mozzarella, so I threw in a couple handfuls of Cheddar. It's all good! I can see this is a very versatile recipe. Thanks for sharing!!

Leftover Squash Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
My one year old "decided" he no longer liked squash after I had cooked an entire butternut squash. I mashed up some of it and made these muffins - and guess what?! He liked them and I liked them! Shh...don't tell him it's squash! The only thing I did differently, is I added 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. The muffins were very good, I will make them again!

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
This lemonade doesn't really need another five star rating - but I really think it deserves it! I only had a few lemons, so for the rest I just used lemon juice, and it was still good!!

Best Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2007
Even when adding less salt than recommended, it was still too salty for us. The sour cream did make the chicken moist. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Banana Bread VIII

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
I made this bread two different ways: 1st time I used yogurt instead of shortening. And in the 2nd batch I used 2 bananas instead of 3, 1/2 cup milk, and shortening as the recipe states. I added 1 t vanilla and 1/4 t cinnamon to both. Both recipes were good, but the second time was the best. I don't know if it was using the shortening or if it was the one less banana. But the second loaf had a great flavor and consistency. Thanks for sharing!!! And thanks to all, for the suggested modifications!!!

Maple Cream Bonbons

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
These were good, but just not enough of a maple flavor for me. I will try it again adding more maple to it. Also, they were a little on the messy side when trying to roll them into balls, I had to refigerate them before I could work with the candy.

Gingersnap Ice Cream Torte

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
I had to give this recipe five stars just because the combination of flavors is SO good! The only change I will make next time is to the baked crust: I will either make it more of a crumbley crust and bake it less time or I will layer some of the ice cream mixture on top of crust before adding a layer of carmel. The crust with carmel frozen to it was a little hard to take a bite of. Even with the crust issues, it still was well received by all, I will definitely make it again!

Lemon Chicken III

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2007
I loved this recipe. My husband thought it was too much lemon, so next time I won't marinate the chicken ahead of time (I only did it for a few hours the first time.)
