Malachi Daniel my Grandson
About this Cook
I am 45 yrs old and have been married for 28 years. I have 3 sons 25, 23 and 20. I also have 3 beautiful daughters in love and 6 grandsons! For the past 20+ yrs we have been sitting down as a family to have dinner most every night.
My favorite things to cook
I like simple recipes without tons of ingredients. Not too crazy about exotic ingredients either. I use Taste of Home magazine quite a bit to add something new and my family appreciated that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mexican food potluck at my mother in laws every Christmas eve for the past 20+ years. All the girls get together and we make home made tamales, too.
My cooking triumphs
I made a red velvet cake once and I thought that was quite a feat.
My cooking tragedies
I have a habit of burning things! I get so busy that I forget that I had my pot or pan on high!

Golden Rum Cake
I made 2 of these to take to 2 different parties. No one loved them. all said TOO much Rum in the glaze. SUPER moist! will make again with different glaze. Poking holes in the cake and putting it back in the pan to soak up glaze works well. I will use pineapple glaze next time.
